Hello! I am an independent professionally trained celebrant based in Surrey, West Sussex, and London - and also happy to travel. I specialise in crafting personalised wedding ceremonies that truly capture your story, and who you are as a couple. In the UK, only registrars or religious ministers can legally marry couples. Registrar-led ceremonies are short, follow a standardised script, and must take place in a registry office or licensed venues with no religious content. Celebrants, on the other hand, cannot legally marry couples, but they can create fully personalised, meaningful ceremonies anywhere, with complete freedom over content and style. The legal registration is done separately, with a simple appointment at a registry office
An independent celebrant can offer full flexibility on the content of a wedding ceremony including religious texts for readings, music and any rituals or other special requests. A humanist celebrant follows strict protocols and cannot include any religious elements in the ceremony.
As no two 'love' ceremonies are the same, I prefer to quote a price range from £450 before a mutual discovery chat, following which, I can quote based on a better understanding of your expectations.

One of the reasons I love meeting couples face-to-face is that it allows me to truly get to know you—quickly and intuitively. I can pick up on the nuances, feel the connection between you, and begin to understand what makes your relationship unique. I like to begin with a discovery phone call, followed by a meeting with you both—ideally in person—so we can start building a genuine connection and shaping the vision and content for your ceremony together.
Ideally, I recommend getting in touch at least three months in advance to allow plenty of time to plan and personalise your ceremony. However, if you're working to a shorter timescale, please don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d be happy to hear from you and see how I can help.
