Registrars complete the legal process of your marriage, producing the certificate - it can be done with two witnesses, in the Register Office. The process takes about ten minutes and then you are free to hold your ceremony wherever and whenever you choose, which is where the celebrant comes in. Celebrants make it unique and all about you. A ceremony filled with your wishes, written with you at the heart of it.

An independent celebrant has freedom to include whatever the couple desires in the ceremony. This could include an act of worship – such as a prayer, a hymn or a reading – if this is what the couple wants. Equally, they can create an entirely non-religious ceremony. A humanist celebrant, however, will only offer a secular or non-religious ceremony, they have no religious beliefs and so do not include any religious content in their ceremony.

My wedding packages are £600 - £750 and include a consultation, unlimited drafts and revisions, unlimited contact throughout the process, liaising, support and advice. Once booked, I'm all yours.

Yes - it is bespoke ceremony, including whatever you would like to reflect and represent your relationship and unique journey.

It is your choice - you can write your own vows if you wish, although I am happy to help with that. I have lots of helpful tips too!

No, you can include what you wish in the ceremony. Whether you would like a ritual such as a sand ceremony, to wear fancy dress or include your pets, it’s all possible and I will help you all along the way to make it happen. Let your imagination run riot. I can make suggestions too.

Yes, multi-cultural or interfaith weddings are very special and an opportunity to blend cultures and faith, and to bring families together. I have lots of experience in this area.

Yes, in order to create your bespoke ceremony, we will meet, we can Zoom or Teams or GoogleMeet if it's easier, and have as many conversations as you need to discuss your wishes and hopes for your special day. We can also meet at the venue and have a rehearsal.

Celebrants conduct beautiful, meaningful, symbolic ceremonies to reflect you both, but they are not legal. This is thankfully changing but we are not there yet. More and more couples are choosing to split the legal and ceremonial parts of their wedding. Do the wedding admin in a registry office for around £50, obtain your marriage certificate, but save the special ceremony, the vows, the rings and everything else you desire for a celebrant-led ceremony - traditional or not, the choice is yours!
