About Your Best Life Celebrant

I am an award-winning accredited Humanist wedding celebrant crafting unique & personal wedding ceremonies across Yorkshire & the North of England. I bring out the best in you & your day to create meaningful & heartwarming memories for you & your guests who will love the ceremony as much as you! So whether you want to make & share a cocktail, involve your pets or kids in some way, have a magician conjure the rings or simply include your love story beautifully re-told, I will give my best to you!

Every one of my ceremonies is unique and tailored to the couple whose love is at the heart of it. I invest a great deal of time getting to know my couples and listening to what they want in their wedding ceremony, both in terms of content and tone. No two wedding ceremonies are ever the same! Whether you are planning a large celebration, intimate micro-wedding, elopement or vow renewal, my process is broadly the same from an initial questionnaire, planning meetings and delivery on the day (plus, often, lots of chats and messages in-between!). The result is that you have someone with you on your special day who you have been a relationship and a connection with, definitely more like a friend than a stranger and I often keep in touch with my couples after their wedding. Couples tell me that this rapport builds quickly due to my warm and open nature. I will put you at ease so that you feel our planning meeting is like a chat with an old friend and I will convert our conversations into the most beautiful and personal wedding ceremony script. You, of course, maintain full control over the edits to the script until you are 100% happy that it represents you and your marriage. As I am an accredited Humanist wedding celebrant, on a practical level, you will also benefit from me being fully insured, you know that the quality of my services are approved by Humanist Ceremonies and I also have a network of fellow Celebrants that I can call on should the worst happen and I am not able to lead your ceremony on the day (this hasn't happened yet but it's good to know that there is a support network behind me just in case!).

FAQs

A Celebrant works with you over a period of time to personalise every aspect of your wedding ceremony. Celebrant ceremonies are typically longer than registrar ceremonies as they contain the couple's love story and more personal reflections on what being married means to that particular couple. As a Celebrant, I personally only take one ceremony a day so you can choose whatever time of day works best for you.

Humanist celebrants are non-religious, accredited by Humanists UK and are part of a wider network of Celebrants which offers training, backup and support. We offer non-religious, meaningful and memorable wedding ceremonies that are aligned with a couple's humanist beliefs and values. Humanist values include equality and inclusivity and I personally pride myself on my ceremonies being inclusive and welcoming to everyone, of all faiths or non, as well as being accessible to all.

£550 for an elopement (just you two & a photographer)

Yes, that's my role as Celebrant!

You can write your vows for sure and you are welcome to write as much of the rest of your ceremony as you wish. However, you don't need to personally write it for it to be your words! I will take all the inputs you give me including all the cute or funny anecdotes and craft a ceremony that is so personal that it will be just as if it came from you (just with my expert writing and ceremony experience). I am here to help and guide you on your vows and the rest of the ceremony as much as you need.

No nothing is essential! You include the elements and traditions that are meaningful to you and leave out what isn't!

Most certainly! Humanists UK were at the forefront of campaigning for marriage equality and I personally pride myself on being inclusive and always working to educate myself on being the best ally I can.

Yes, a Humanist wedding is ideal for interfaith weddings as we put your love at the centre, yet you can both brings aspects of different cultures.

Yes! We meet so I can get to know you and create the ceremony from scratch from there.

As soon as possible! Dates in summer on particular can get booked far in advance.

Unfortunately not in England and Wales currently, but we're working on it and are hoping for more news on this in 2026.

Our Sustainability Commitments

I offer a discounted 'green package' for couples who opt to hold their ceremony planning meeting online and only receive a PDF version of their keepsake script (this costs £700 per ceremony vs usual fee of £735). Starting from 2026, I am also committing to planting a tree for every ceremony to offset my carbon emissions of travelling by car to ceremonies.
