About the Open Day
Our Wedding Open Day is the perfect opportunity to view Winton Castle dressed for a wedding, chat to our lovely team, and meet a handpicked selection of our recommended suppliers. On arrival our team will welcome you with a glass of fizz, and a selection of canapes for you to sample.
Our doors are open between 10am to 1pm, so pick your time-slot. Entry is free but please do book your tickets in advance to reserve your space. Please book ONE ticket for your party unless your group will be over 4 guests.

Winton Castle near Edinburgh in Scotland offers a uniquely personal service for planning your wedding and managing all aspects of your big day.
Your Ceremony
Within the Castle our very grand Drawing Room provides the ideal setting for your ceremony of up to 100 guests. If the Scottish weather is kind, an outdoor ceremony can be created in our walled garden or the lower terraced garden with the backdrop of the loch and estate. Should your guest list be above 100, a marquee can be arranged on our croquet lawn adjacent to the castle for many more.
Drinks Receptions
Within the castle, the grand entrance hall welcomes you with its roaring fire leading to the dramatic Octagon Room with your bustling bar. The Library is a cosy sitting room to enjoy a dram or two, surrounded by master pieces and intricate ceilings. Outdoors the croquet lawn and lower terrace are the perfect setting to toast your day.
Food and Drink
Our panel of caterers will bring to life a magnificent menu for your wedding banquet. On your wedding day you can welcome 100 guests dining in the Dining Room or up to 130 guests seated over 2 elegant rooms. For larger weddings, a marquee can be hired in addition to the Castle.
Marquee Weddings
For larger weddings, dine in a marquee on the croquet lawn hired specially for your big day, right next to the castle. Our wedding marquees are beautifully lined and decorated, and have wonderful views towards the castle and south over the terraced gardens and Sir David’s Loch.
As the Evening Draws in- Enjoy the freedom of the Castle throughout the evening, with dancing in full swing in the Dining Room. Any guests who prefer to relax, can be found lounging in front of the fire in the cosy Library.
Wedding Accommodation - Winton Castle sleeps up to 20 guests in ten magnificent bedrooms. Additional accommodation is available on the estate in our three luxurious, self catering cottages , sleeping up to 36 guests.
