About South Farm

et within 20 acres of Hertfordshire countryside near Royston, South Farm brings together restored timber-framed barns, a Grade II listed farmhouse and gardens planned with weddings in mind. The house dates back to the 15th century, and the grounds combine formal lawns, wildflower meadows and a kitchen garden that supplies the venue’s seasonal menus.

Ceremonies take place in a choice of licensed spaces. The Tudor Barn seats up to 146 guests, with oak beams and views across the gardens. The Old Dairy offers a lighter setting for up to 100, while the Summerhouse provides an outdoor option overlooking the pond. Receptions move naturally through the barns and courtyards, with drinks on the lawn and dining in the Tudor Barn before the evening continues with up to 200 guests.

Food is central to how the day unfolds. South Farm’s in-house team prepare menus using produce grown on site and locally sourced ingredients, with couples choosing from set packages or creating a bespoke menu. The farm’s smallholding, rare-breed pigs and vegetable gardens are part of daily life here and shape the approach to catering.

On-site accommodation includes 13 bedrooms in the farmhouse and courtyard, sleeping up to 37 guests. Rooms range from traditional en-suite bedrooms to converted stable rooms and a Romany caravan. A dedicated dressing room is available for pre-ceremony preparations, and the venue hosts one wedding a day, allowing the house, barns and gardens to feel entirely your own.
