When Kim and her two children moved into a new house eight years ago, she didn’t know that romance was just around the corner...or along the road.
Mark spotted his lovely new neighbour when she moved into a house just two doors down from his own, but was too shy to speak to her in person. Instead, he posted a note through the front door inviting her out for a drink, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Seven years on, and the happy couple discovered that their wedding day fell the day after Kate and Will’s, last Spring. ‘We had a lot to live up to,’ smiles Kim, ‘but the weather was great and we had a fab day!’
The ceremony was held at Launton church, and the reception at the beautiful Jacobean Eynsham Hall, with its magnificent gardens and imposing function rooms. Kim’s daughter Maisy was the only bridesmaid, and her son Sam, aged 12, was Mark’s best man. ‘There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when he did his speech,‘ remembers Kim.
During the evening, guests both young and old were refreshed with an indulgent sweet stall and their very own slush puppy machine, hired in for the occasion, with the entire affair captured for posterity by talented Oxford based, Fig Photography.
