Deciding which destination in the Caribbean to visit for your honeymoon can be a bit of a challenge. There are many beautiful destinations to choose from, and they all offer everything you could ever want for a honeymoon - soft white sands, crystal clear waters, and luxury resorts and hotels. To help you make the best decision, here are some suggestions for the perfect Caribbean honeymoon.

1. Antigua

With its lively cultural scene, tasty cuisines, and historic sites, Antigua will make your honeymoon truly unforgettable. But it's often the beautiful beaches that draw honeymooners to the island. The island has hundreds of beautiful beaches that locals claim it's possible to visit a different beach every day of the year!

With so many beaches to explore in Antigua, you will most likely spend most of your time at the beach on your honeymoon trip. Half Moon Bay is the most popular beach on the island and is arguably the best. It's a gorgeous, crescent-shaped bay, perfect for snorkelling and surfing. If you want to venture away from the beaches, explore Fort James, which overlooks the panoramic views of St. John's Harbour and the Caribbean Sea. The fort was built around 1706 by the British to protect the city from invasion.

The Devil's Bridge National Park is another famous attraction to check out in Antigua. Its most distinct feature is the spectacular limestone arch, formed due to thousands of years of wave erosion. The limestones are surrounded by blowholes blasting seawater into the air, which makes for a truly stunning sight!

2. Barbados

Barbados is the easternmost island of the Caribbean and one of the best destinations for a honeymoon. It's a classic honeymoon staple, home to beautiful beaches and luxury rentals exemplified by companies such as Hammerton Barbados. The island is densely populated, which explains its abundance of cultural offerings and lively festivals. Barbados feels distinctly Caribbean, lined with colourful villages and lush landscapes.

While honeymooning in Barbados, sail on the island's idyllic west coast and marvel at the stunning scenery with your loved one beside you. During your cruise, take advantage of the opportunity to snorkel and appreciate the underwater marine life. After enjoying some of the water sports, indulge in delectable meals onboard. Back to your resort, book a relaxing massage at the island's most luxurious spas. The Sandbox Tree Spa offers spa packages for couples in a tranquil setting.

Spend the rest of your days lounging at the island's prettiest beaches. While the shorelines of Barbados offer picturesque views and idyllic ocean breezes, the must-visit beaches include Bathsheba Beach, Dover Beach, and Carlisle Bay. Listen to the relaxing sound of the waves as you lie on your beach chair and enjoy a glass of your favourite cocktail.

3. Cuba

Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean and an ideal choice for your honeymoon. You can spend your days meandering through Havana's photogenic streets lined with colourful colonial buildings, listening to live music, and hanging out at exquisite beaches.

While most couples will head straight to the smaller islands of Cuba, it's worth spending some time in Havana, an enchanting capital with rich culture and history. Venture into the historic old town of Cuba, La Habana Vieja, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you'll find colourful colonial buildings and beautiful churches. Enjoy a romantic stroll at Malecon boardwalk to experience a true Cuban romance, and end the day dining at a Paladar, the best place for authentic Cuban delicacies.

After a day of sightseeing, the best way to relax is to cosy up at the stunning Havana beach, Playas Del Este. But if you want to leave Havana and visit other places, head to Santiago de Cuba, in the southeast of Cuba. It's a romantic city with a Spanish colonial feel, famous for its beautiful beaches. The city is also a perfect base for hiking Cuba's highest peak, La Gran Piedra.

4. Mexico

Mexico is home to some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, with breathtaking shores guaranteed to ignite romance. The top honeymoon spots in Mexico include the coastal city of Playa del Carmen and the charming little island of Cozumel.

While you might be contented with lounging at the beach on your honeymoon, take time to explore some of Mexico's attractions. In Playa del Carmen, check out Xcaret, one of the largest eco-parks in the Riviera Maya. Here, you can spend your day exploring the underground rivers and aquariums and discovering wild animals, from pumas to jaguars. After a day of exploring, relax at a cosy cafe on Playa del Carmen's 5th Avenue. Watch the local world go by with your loved one beside you. The area gets even livelier at night, with salsa music and mariachis playing in the background.

Cozumel, Mexico's largest island, is another ideal destination for a Caribbean honeymoon. Home to stunning Mexican Caribbean reefs, it's the perfect spot for scuba diving. Snorkelling and other water sports are also popular here since the water visibility is amazing.

5. Bahamas

The hundreds of islands that make up the Bahamas lure honeymooners to its white sandy shores. The Bahamas, being one of the most visited places for a honeymoon, also offers a range of fun excursions and luxurious accommodations for that perfect honeymoon. Nature enthusiasts will have plenty to explore, while history buffs can discover a range of ruins and artefacts.

The Gold Rock Beach in Lucayan National Park is a great beach to relax and spend quality time with your loved one. Check out Pig Beach, where you can feed and swim with wild pigs on the water, a truly unique experience. Although you'll be spending your time mostly on the shore, one of the best ways to make the most of your honeymoon is to go on a boat tour. Chartering a private yacht will also allow you to enjoy fun water activities like snorkelling, diving, and swimming.

Couples who love diving will find a plethora of colourful reefs and underwater caves teeming with marine life in the Bahamas. You'll encounter sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, and stingrays on your diving excursions. Some resorts also offer guests the opportunity to snorkel in their shallow waters.
