About John Ashmele - Wedding Toastmaster

John's primary focus as Toastmaster / Master of Ceremonies is to take your wedding plan and make it work on the day, making sure that everything runs smoothly and on time, and that announcements and introductions are made using the appropriate etiquette.

As a Toastmaster / Master of Ceremonies, John knows how important your wedding day is, and wants to help you create one of the most memorable days of your life. After all those months of planning and preparation, this is when you want everything to be just right.
John can advise you on procedure and timing, speeches and toasts, and the touches that will enhance your special day. He will then prepare an outline plan as you want it to be, and from this point on you will receive full support, answering any questions and addressing any issues that might arise. On the day itself, John will take the agreed plan and make it work. He will look after you and your guests, liaising with the venue, other suppliers – and his watch – to ensure that everything runs smoothly and on time. He will make all the announcements, introducing the speeches and toasts using the appropriate etiquette.
John is mindful that tact and discretion are called for when considering the requirements and wishes of the modern family, including LGBTQ+, same-sex or mixed-faith couples, and couples with children or divorced parents. He covers weddings of most cultures (including standard English, Jewish and Asian), other family celebrations and formal dinners mid-week as well as at the weekend. If required, he can put aside the traditional Toastmasters’ livery and wear less formal attire; you will still receive the same professional service. Rest assured; John will always work with your best interests in mind.
A Fellow of the Guild of Professional Toastmasters, John has been trained to the highest standards of the Professional Toastmasters’ Academy. He works with people, not clients, and has been told that he has a positive personality, a calm and reassuring manner, and a sense of occasion that befits a traditional role. He lives near Rickmansworth, South-West Hertfordshire, and ‘Have Gavel, Will Travel’.
