About The Cider Barn (Dillington Estate)
This old agricultural stone and thatch barn, nestled among the woods and fields of the Dillington Estate, has views far across the rolling Somerset countryside. The barn's natural wood beams and exposed thatch are elegantly highlighted by magical fairy lights and rope chandeliers. We are licensed for Civil Ceremonies and are delighted to offer couples exclusive hire and the ability to choose all your own suppliers to make the day uniquely yours!
Up to 120 guests can be seated in the main barn for dining following an optional indoor or outdoor ceremony. More relaxed dining experiences may be able to seat up to 150 guests throughout the venue. If you're envisioning a Christian celebration, Whitelackington's Church of St. Mary's is right next door, and our personable staff would be happy to introduce you to the benefice team.
The team behind The Cider Barn delight in helping couples host memorable milestone celebrations. We recognise that catering is an essential part of any wedding, so to make sure you can arrange the day you want, the venue is happy to work with any caterer you choose and can provide support to new suppliers. The venue also has relationships with a few local vendors and can introduce you to help gather quotes for your unique event.
When the festivities begin to wind down, you and your loved ones can retire to one of the estate's beautiful holiday cottages for a rejuvenating rest. We have a number of stunning cottages for your nearest and dearest, which are perfect for those morning-of photo opportunities.

Yes! All our couples have exclusive use of the barn and courtyard garden for the duration of the wedding day!
We are indeed licensed for Civil Ceremonies, but you are also welcome to have a non-legal ceremony or blessing at the barn, or even get married somewhere else and come to us for the party.
Yes! We have a beautifully kept courtyard garden complete with a white and natural wood stretch tent which provides perfect canopy protection from any weather.
No; we do not charge corkage, but you/your supplier may need to apply for a Temporary Events Notice if you will be selling alcohol during the wedding.
Absolutely! You are welcome to use whomever you'd like, but we're happy to recommend some excellent local suppliers.
For a Saturday wedding you’ll have access to the barn for deliveries and set up from 9am the Friday before, until 12pm the Monday after the wedding.
Your guests can arrive from 11:00am on the day of the wedding and can stay until midnight. By 12:00am, we expect the barn to be empty, so we ask that drinks service ends at 11:30pm. As a condition of our license, the music must be turned off at 11:00pm.
Unfortunately, we do not allow the use of fireworks, sparklers, firepits, Chinese lanterns, etc.
You are welcome have confetti at the barn, but like most venues, we ask that it is biodegradable.
You are welcome to have small tealight candles contained within jars or lanterns as table decorations.
