About Ashridge Court (Ashridge Great Barn)
Your wedding day should be meaningful and enjoyable, not stressed, rushed or shared. The Great Barn at Ashridge in Devon only hosts a few exclusive weddings a year and the place is completely yours for your wedding. You can choose from either 2 or 3 day exclusive hire with onsite accommodation for 9 included. Brand new camping facilities with the option of adding unlimited campers to your package so all of your guests can stay on site.
The Ashridge Great Barn is an enchanting rustic barn with space to seat up to 140 guests with a maximum capacity of 200.
Specialising in bespoke weddings, the team at the Ashridge Great Barn take pride in the flexibility on offer to couples who use the venue to create a wedding that truly reflects their personalities. With a limited number of weddings hosted a year support is on offer to couples about all aspects of the wedding planning process.
Planning your wedding can be a daunting process and it all starts with the venue - a decision which sets the tone for your whole wedding. Â It can limit what you can do, or open up new options that you hadn't considered before.
The main Barn opens up at the back to an area where the fire pit is located and extends to the ‘snug’ area and built in facilities.
It is possible to get married on site, either in the barn or in our Magic Circle in the gardens or our Secret Glade woodland. You can choose from registrar or celebrant led outdoor or indoor ceremonies at Ashridge or get married in a beautiful local church.
All packages include access to the collection of rustic props, on-the-day wedding coordination and a supply of logs for the fire pit. Set on a working farm in the shadow of Dartmoor, the Ashridge Great Barn has it all; historic grandeur, rustic charm and a stunning countryside setting.

Our Sustainability Commitments
Ashridge Great Barn, located on a regenerative working farm in North Tawton, Devon, integrates sustainability into its operations by using locally sourced building materials, processing waste on-site via bio-digesters, and generating water from a natural borehole. The venue limits single-use plastics and promotes eco-conscious celebrations. As we are all becoming more aware of the impact our choices have on the world around us and the ramifications of these impacts for people near and far both in time and space. As a working farm we are not only witness to these effects but also at the forefront of making changes to combat them. As a wedding business we’re well aware of the problems with waste within the wedding industry and passionate about doing our best to make sure that our couples are able to have as little impact as they choose to on their big day. This can range from making sure that your food waste is composted and your flowers go to a local nursing home to helping you source biodegradable plates and local ingredients along with your caterer. We consider the three pillars of sustainability to be Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. Please feel free to ask us about our environmental credentials – we love talking about the journey we’re on!
