About Holne Park House
Holne Park House sits on the edge of Dartmoor just off the A38 Devon Expressway at Ashburton, surrounded by 90 acres of gardens, lakes, rivers and woodland. Couples have exclusive use of the house, its private lawns and interconnecting reception rooms, all of which are licensed for weddings, and can tailor the day to suit their style.
Inside the house, five reception rooms adapt to different moments of a wedding day. The Inkwell, with a glass lantern roof and marble fireplace, offers an informal space for drinks; the Dawson Room brings abundant natural light and original features; the Ballroom’s wood-panelled space with an oak sprung floor works for a meal and evening entertainment; and the Ashburton and Music Rooms provide additional flexible spaces for gatherings or quieter moments.
For the day itself, a seated wedding breakfast can be planned for around 83 guests, depending on the table plan, and for less traditional or evening celebrations the venue can welcome up to 200 guests. The venue fee in the quoted example includes exclusive use of all reception rooms, front lawns and Tea Garden, the wedding suite for one night with breakfast, priority car parking, crockery, cutlery, glassware, linen and use of the Inkwell bar, along with heating, lighting and staffing.
Overnight options range from an elegant mix of double, twin or family rooms with en-suite bathrooms, televisions and tea/coffee facilities to en-suite dormitories. The wedding suite, featuring a four-poster bed and a secret connecting room, is available for preparation the night before and morning of the wedding.
