About Moot House

Built around 1840 as a vicarage for St Mary-at-Latton church, Moot House is a Grade II listed building in Harlow, Essex. Its 19th-century character now provides the setting for civil marriages and partnerships. The venue is approved by Essex County Council for civil ceremonies and is operated by the Mark Hall & Netteswell Community Association, a registered charity that supports community activities.

The venue offers exclusive use for weddings. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Len White Room, a space that holds up to 24 guests for community ceremonies. For larger gatherings, there are two function halls available. The ground-floor Moot Hall holds up to 180 people and is fitted with a hearing loop. In total, the venue can host ceremonies for up to 78 guests and receptions for up to 180.

Wedding planning is supported by several key services. The team can provide an optional licensed bar, and an in-house photographer is available through Hibbard Photography. The spaces can hold live music or a disco for the evening celebration. Guests can use the on-site car park, and the ground-floor rooms, including the Moot Hall and Len White Room, are accessible.
