That Amazing Place is an exclusive Essex country‑house wedding and events venue, blending historic character with modern luxury. With its stylish interiors, expansive grounds, and a team known for heartfelt hospitality and seamless coordination, it offers a warm, personal setting where every celebration feels effortlessly special
Set within the heart of the Essex countryside, That Amazing Place is one of only a select few country houses in England to offer full exclusive use for your wedding day. When you celebrate with us, our beautiful country house (sleeping up to 31 guests) becomes entirely yours for the day and night, giving you complete privacy and the rare luxury of having your closest family and friends all together in one place. No transport worries, no interruptions, just effortless enjoyment from beginning to end.
For couples wishing to extend the celebration, we also offer a charming four‑bedroom house right beside the venue for the night before your wedding. Sleeping up to eight guests, it features two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen/dining room, a cosy lounge, a dedicated bridal preparation room, and a lovely garden, perfect for relaxed drinks the evening before and picture‑perfect moments on the morning of your wedding.
Inside the country house, our bright, contemporary rooms provide an elegant setting for intimate celebrations of up to 80 guests, while our marquee accommodates up to 150 for larger gatherings. Fully licensed for civil ceremonies, you can exchange your vows in one of our stylish reception rooms or beneath our outdoor lakeside gazebo. To complete your day, enjoy exceptional food from one of our carefully selected preferred caterers.

"Tucked away in a rural setting, between the M11 and Harlow, That Amazing Place certainly lives up to its name. Couples love being 'Lords of the Manor", with exclusive use of the entire Manor House for guests to enjoy throughout the wedding. The traditional marquee looking out over lawns really adds to the english Manor House feel; you really can imagine that you are hosting a wedding in your own (very smart) home! There's space for at least 30 guests on site, and it is close to Harlow, where there is inexpensive hotel accommodation for any additional out of town guests."

Yes, That Amazing Place is an exclusive use venue.
Yes.
Yes. You can marry under the gazebo by the lake.
We do not offer the option of corkage, however, we work very hard to ensure that we can provide our clients with good quality wines at reasonable prices.
If our caterers cannot provide what you are looking for, we can discuss options for this.
Access is permitted from 11.30am for the bridal party and suppliers (eg, venue decorators, florists etc). Wedding guests may arrive at the venue 45 minutes before the wedding starts.
The bar closes and music ends at 11.30pm. The venue closes at midnight to all non-residential guests.
You can have a live band if the party is held within the house, but in the marquee there are a few more restrictions. Chat to our team about your requirements and we'll work out a plan!
Yes, provided they are the low noise displays by our recommended supplier.
Yes, we allow the use of bio-degradable confetti in the garden and grounds. Unfortunately, we cannot allow confetti to be thrown inside the house or the use of confetti cannons.
