About That Amazing Place
Embark on a timeless journey at That Amazing Place, an enchanting manor house nestled in countryside. Within the elegant manor, a grand ballroom with soaring ceilings and opulent décor transforms into a dance floor or dining room for up to 150 guests. Versatile function rooms provide intimate settings for ceremonies, receptions, and gatherings. Overnight accommodation in our Bridal Cottage (for the wedding couple) and 14 additional guest rooms (sleeping up to 29 of your guests).
Nestled in the Essex countryside, That Amazing Place is one of only a handful of country houses in England to offer exclusive use of the venue for your wedding day. This means that when you book your wedding with us, our beautiful Manor House which sleeps up to 31 people is exclusively yours for the day and night of your wedding. Not only does this give you complete privacy on your special day, your family and friends can also relax and enjoy themselves without the hassle of having to worry about transport.
You are able to book our 4 bedroomed house, situated right next to the venue, for the night before your wedding. Along with the 4 double bedrooms (sleeping up to 8 guests) and 2 bathrooms, there will also be a large kitchen/dining room, a lounge, a bridal preparation room and a lovely large garden, perfect for relaxing drinks the night before the wedding and beautiful photos the following morning. We can't wait to share more information with you.
We offer large bright rooms with contemporary interiors ideal for small intimate gatherings for up to 80 people inside the house, or for larger number our marquee seats up to 150 people. Fully licensed for civil ceremonies, you can say “I Do” your choice of our elegant reception rooms or under our outdoor gazebo by the lake and enjoy fantastic food from one of our carefully selected preferred caterers.

"Tucked away in a rural setting, between the M11 and Harlow, That Amazing Place certainly lives up to its name. Couples love being 'Lords of the Manor", with exclusive use of the entire Manor House for guests to enjoy throughout the wedding. The traditional marquee looking out over lawns really adds to the english Manor House feel; you really can imagine that you are hosting a wedding in your own (very smart) home! There's space for at least 30 guests on site, and it is close to Harlow, where there is inexpensive hotel accommodation for any additional out of town guests."

Yes, That Amazing Place is an exclusive use venue.
Yes.
Yes. You can marry under the gazebo by the lake.
We do not offer the option of corkage, however, we work very hard to ensure that we can provide our clients with good quality wines at reasonable prices.
If our caterers cannot provide what you are looking for, we can discuss options for this.
Access is permitted from 11.30am for the bridal party and suppliers (eg, venue decorators, florists etc). Wedding guests may arrive at the venue 45 minutes before the wedding starts.
The bar closes and music ends at 11.30pm. The venue closes at midnight to all non-residential guests.
You can have a live band if the party is held within the house, but you cannot have a live band in the marquee for the evening.
Yes, provided they are the low noise displays by our recommended supplier.
Yes, we allow the use of bio-degradable confetti in the garden and grounds. Unfortunately, we cannot allow confetti to be thrown inside the house or the use of confetti cannons.
