The Chichester Hotel is a charming and historic independently owned hotel with a warm welcome and friendly service. Standing on a site steeped in history, this former farmhouse boasts 36 en suite bedrooms, two busy bars that have a friendly pub atmosphere and three function rooms that can be used for celebrations and weddings.

The hotel lies in the heart of the rural district of Rochford and is rich with history boasting numerous medieval churches. It is a gateway to Southend and the new local airport.

The Chichester Hotel takes its name from Sir John de Chichestre who was the original occupant of Chichester Hall, a 13th century moated farmhouse which still survives to this day. Two of the farm buildings still stand and were renovated as the Essex Barn and the Stable Inn. The carved oak ceiling beams are over 300 years old and the three wagon chanderliers are from a grain wagon which journeyed twice weekly from Ipswich to London over 130 years ago.

One of our spaces is the Essex Barn which is beautifully restored. This space is perfect for a smaller more intimate wedding. The room has beautifully carved oak beams that are over 300 years old and its own exclusive terraced entrance and private bar.
