About Hall Place & Gardens

Set within 65 acres of award-winning gardens and parkland on the banks of the River Cray, Hall Place & Gardens offers a Tudor country house setting just 30 minutes from central London. The Grade I listed house dates back to 1537, with later additions creating its distinctive black-and-white timbered façade and historic interiors.

Civil ceremonies take place inside the house, with a choice of rooms licensed for different guest numbers. The Great Hall, with its wood-panelled walls and minstrels’ gallery, holds up to 100 guests for a ceremony. The Tudor Kitchen provides a more intimate setting for up to 60, while the Library is available for smaller ceremonies of up to 30.

Receptions are held in a purpose-built marquee within the grounds, seating up to 250 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 300 for an evening celebration. Couples have use of the house and gardens for photographs, including the formal gardens, topiary lawn and riverside walks.

Hall Place & Gardens offers exclusive use for weddings, with dedicated wedding coordinators supporting planning from initial enquiry through to the day itself. Catering is provided by approved caterers, with a range of menu options available. The venue hosts weddings throughout the year, with seasonal packages outlined in its wedding brochure. Licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, Hall Place & Gardens combines historic rooms, extensive gardens and a large marquee space within easy reach of London.
