The Harty Estate is an exclusive barn wedding venue that brings relaxed rustic elegance to your day in an idyllic waterside setting beside the Swale estuary, just 60 minutes from London. You'll feel all the care and expertise of an award-winning venue that's hosted life's special celebrations for over 25 years. From quality estate-born dining and accommodation for 75+ guests, to two preparation rooms and personal planning from the expert team, there's everything you need for your dream day.
With stunning wedding spaces all enjoying water views, this venue brings a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. Exchange your vows in the Hop Barn, clad with Kent hops and fairy lights, or say them outdoors from the Oak Gazebo, overlooking the Rose Garden and estuary. For larger celebrations, Spring Barn enjoys a bright, contemporary feel, with a vast oak frame and large bi-folding windows with water panoramas. Later on it comes into its own during your wedding reception, with an in-room bar, lounge and dance floor, so your guests can celebrate together, whether they want to relax with a drink, or appreciate the tunes of the resident DJ. The Hop Barn and characterful period pub also make beautiful reception spaces for intimate wedding receptions.
Two wedding preparation rooms, a private 16th century pub, waterside terraces, gardens and a firelit courtyard are also part of your exclusive day.
During your wedding you'll enjoy 'estate to plate' dining, by award-winning chefs. The Harty Estate prides itself on creating exceptional menus using ingredients grown in the kitchen garden and sourced from the family farm, estate and quality Kent producers.
As your day draws to a close it ends on a high, with on-site accommodation for 75+ guests in 11 estate guest rooms and self cottages. You can even extend your celebration with a two-day wedding, for when the biggest day of your life just isn't long enough.
Whether you're dreaming of an intimate twilight wedding, an all-out occasion for 350 guests, or a celebration of your cultural heritage, the expert and friendly team will help you bring it to life. You'll be warmly assisted the whole way though, with personal planning meetings, a wedding taster evening for full-day weddings and a dedicated planning portal. During the planning process you'll meet your Venue Host for the day, who is there to make sure everything goes beautifully for you, so you can relax knowing your wedding is in the best of hands.

Our Sustainability Commitments
The Harty Estate's approach to sustainability is rooted in its agricultural heritage. The estate is owned by the Burdens, a third-generation farming family who have worked this land since the 1960s, and Harty remains home to them today. This connection brings a genuine responsibility to care for the land and its future, extending naturally to how food is sourced and used, with the Kitchen Garden, family-farm beef, estate game and Kent producers helping to keep food miles low. The Kitchen Garden is irrigated using treated well water and planted to support natural growing and biodiversity. Food waste is reduced through a nose-to-tail approach, onsite butchery and composting, while renewable energy is generated through solar panels in a field to the rear of the estate. Practical ways to reduce environmental impact are continually sought across how the estate is grown, sourced, managed and operated. For couples who care about sustainability, this means they can celebrate here knowing that the wedding they have chosen has strong green credentials, rooted in genuine practices, and can reflect values that matter to them.
