About Stirk House Hotel
Welcome to Stirk House, a Majestic 17th Century Manor House wedding venue with a license for ceremonies in Clitheroe in the most spellbinding surroundings. With beautiful gardens, an ancient woodland and countryside views as far as the eye can see, Stirk House resonates romance throughout and is often likened to a real-life fairytale setting. One of the most special days of your lives requires a venue to suit and there’s nowhere quite like Stirk House.
Whether it’s a sensational summer or an atmospheric autumn backdrop you’re dreaming of for your wedding pictures, the setting at Stirk House provides an abundance of unique photo opportunities. As well as having panoramic views of the surrounding Ribble Valley countryside, the grounds are a tranquil haven for wildlife, with 22 acres of beautiful gardens, a nature trail and even an ancient forest.
Work with our award-winning in-house wedding coordinators to make your dream day a reality with a completely bespoke service, individually tailored to you. With the flexibility of several function areas, spectacular food and a magical setting, your perfect day can be exactly how you’ve imagined it.
At Stirk House we specialise in creating those perfect memories for your special day. We can accommodate for both small, intimate ceremonies with your nearest and dearest, to big luxurious parties, where we can seat 250 people for a sit down wedding breakfast. No matter how big or small your wedding is, the team are consistent in giving you the upmost attention and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day.
Our function suite is multi-purpose, meaning you can make the most of the space needed, whilst keeping certain areas closed off for a more intimate feel. The function suite has it's own bar, toilet facilities and a private lounge area, meaning you have certain areas that are exclusive for you.
Our function suite has a late license - so there is no need to worry the party will end too early! And once the main event has finished, our lounge bar is open to all residents wanting a night cap.
The wedding itself is not just limited to a one day experience. You will come in and meet with the wedding teams numerous times, from wedding fayres to private appointments, wedding tasting sessions and many of our couples like to come and stay over to experience what Stirk House has to offer before the big day.

FAQs
We only have one wedding a day at Stirk House. Our restaurant and public lounge area is open to the public - it can be paid to be closed however if you would like full exclusivity. Please contact the weddings team directly for information on this.
Yes, we have our beautiful Gallery Suite that is licensed for 113 guests seated.
We are not licensed for outdoor ceremonies, however we do have 22 acres of grounds and a large patio area which is perfect for your celebrations after the ceremony.
We do not allow corkage / for you to supply your own wine.
All catering is done in house, however if you have any special requests we can certainly speak with the chef and tailor the menu especially to you.
Access is from 7am on the day - however if there is no event the day before, we can ensure the room is available for you to decorate. Our wedding co-ordinators will also be on hand on the day to set up all of your decorations so you can relax and enjoy getting ready with your wedding party on the morning.
We are lucky to have a late license on the bar so there is no "official" cut off time for the evening reception. We usually go off when the music is booked until so if a band / DJ is booked until 1am, our function bar will stay open until then. Our residents bar is also open 24 hours for anyone who wishes to have a nightcap before heading to bed!
We do not have any noise restrictions for any entertainment
Due to our rural location, we only allow fireworks on bonfire night and new years eve. We do allow sparklers at any time of year.
Yes, we do allow confetti. Due to the rural location we ask that this is natural dried petals only.
We do allow candles on any surface. Any candles for the floor e.g. for the aisle in the ceremony must be the fake candles in case they are knocked over, but otherwise on any tables we can use real candles.
Yes we have a beautiful honeymoon suite included in all of our packages for the wedding night.
We have 33 bedrooms on site; ranging from classic double rooms to large family suites that can sleep 6 people.
There is local accommodation nearby that we can recommend if we are fully booked for the wedding night, ask us for recommendations
