About Waltham Forest Town Hall

Waltham Forest Town Hall is a Grade II listed building on Fellowship Square, designed by architect Philip Dalton Hepworth. Completed in 1942, its stripped classical style incorporates Art Deco and Nordic Classicism influences, with an exterior of Portland stone and a copper clock tower. The building, which is the base for the Waltham Forest Register Office, is also adorned with sculptures by John Francis Kavanagh.

A range of licensed rooms is available for civil marriages, civil partnerships, and other ceremonies. The Fellowship Civic Chamber can hold up to 145 guests and features an upper gallery. For larger groups of up to 60, the Lodberry Suite is designed to allow for an aisle entrance. More intimate options include the wood-panelled Lodden Suite for 40 people, the Marigold Room for 20 with views over the square's fountains, and the Strawberry Suite for 12. Several spaces feature interiors by William Morris.

Each booking is assigned a dedicated coordinator to guide clients through the planning process, from giving notice to finalising the arrangements. The team can also connect couples with local suppliers and arrange for a drinks reception or toast to be held after the ceremony. In addition to the Town Hall, the service facilitates ceremonies at other approved venues throughout the Borough of Waltham Forest.
