About Holkham Hall

Situated on the North Norfolk coast, in Wells-next-the-Sea, is one of the grandest and most beautiful venues in the county. This impressive Palladian house, is licensed for civil ceremonies and is filled with character and history.

We have a license to hold civil ceremonies or partnerships in four of our magnificent state rooms in the hall or at the Temple in the park.

Drinks and canapé receptions can be held in the hall, all providing spectacular backdrops for your wedding photographs. You are then able to move to use our fantastic new venue, The Lady Elizabeth Wing or celebrate in Holkham Park in a marquee by the Temple, the lake or the walled gardens.

The private walled gardens were built in the mid-18th century and are being restored. There is plenty of space for marquee wedding receptions and parties.

The lawn outside the Temple is also available as a marquee site and is particularly ideal if you are planning a wedding ceremony inside the Temple or under the portico. This is an incredibly romantic place for your wedding, within Holkham Park, but hidden away in the woods.

The parkland surrounding the hall and overlooking the lake is an impressive site for a marquee reception with wonderful views and plenty of space for larger weddings.

We are able to provide you with details of recommended marquee suppliers and caterers who are familiar with our sites. We will leave you to discuss with them exactly what you want.

The Victoria at Holkham offers accommodation in ten bedrooms, with ten additional bedrooms available in Ancient House.
