About Danby Castle Barn
Set within the North York Moors National Park, Danby Castle Barn combines a historic setting with flexible indoor and outdoor spaces designed to host the full wedding day in one location. The site includes 14th-century castle ruins and open moorland surroundings, creating a distinctive backdrop for ceremonies and photographs.
Couples can choose from four licensed ceremony areas. Indoor ceremonies take place in either the historic Court Room or the Barn, while outdoor options include the Lawn overlooking the moors or the atmospheric Ruins for smaller gatherings. Each space allows the day to be shaped around guest numbers and preferred style.
Preparations begin in a dedicated Getting Ready Room with space for wedding attire, photography and time with the wedding party before the ceremony. Following the vows, guests move through the grounds or gather at the bar before the reception begins.
The Daleview Barn hosts wedding breakfasts for up to 180 guests and evening celebrations for up to 220. Large arched windows frame views across the moors, while the adjoining bar, dance floor, in-house sound system and lighting support live music, DJs or personal playlists as the day moves into the evening.
Weddings are held on an exclusive-use basis, allowing couples and guests private access to the venue throughout the celebration. Catering, drinks, and coordination are incorporated within wedding packages, with parking available on site for up to 50 cars. Although there is no on-site accommodation, nearby places to stay are recommended locally for guests attending celebrations at Danby Castle Barn.

Whilst we don’t allow corkage, our venue supplies a large variety of drinks for all tastes. Should you wish to offer specific drinks that are not on our menu, our team can source almost anything for you.
We have an amazing in-house catering team providing top quality food for the day of your wedding. Due to this, we do not allow external caterers for your wedding breakfast however we do allow you to have food trucks on the premises on the evening of your special day.
You have access to The Getting Ready Room from 8am and access to decorate rooms from 9am on the day of your wedding!
Music is permitted outside during both the ceremony and drinks reception, helping to create the perfect atmosphere for those special moments. For other parts of the day, we can arrange music for indoor spaces. Our sound limiter is set to 85 decibels, ensuring a lively atmosphere while keeping everything comfortably within the venue’s guidelines.
