About The Milner York
The Milner York sits on three acres of landscaped English gardens adjacent to York train station, with views extending to York Minster and the city’s Roman walls. Civil ceremonies can take place on-site in licensed spaces that range in size, and celebrations of up to 250 guests can be held for dinner and dancing.
The Oak Room combines oak panels, decorative carvings and double-height sash windows overlooking the hotel gardens and Minster, with capacity for up to 160 for a ceremony and up to 120 for a seated wedding breakfast. Smaller weddings or breakfasts can take place in the Ebor room, which has large windows that flood the space with natural light and views of the landscaped gardens, or in the Crown and Wedgewood rooms on the first floor, with period details and space for ceremonies and meals.
Ceremonies and receptions flow through interconnected interiors and outdoor spaces, with landscaped gardens providing backdrops for photographs. The hotel sits immediately beside York train station, offering easy access for guests arriving by rail. Couples can tailor their day with a range of wedding packages or bespoke arrangements, and details such as table plans, linens and signage are included in some packages. Pre-wedding and open-day events take place regularly, offering opportunities to view the wedding spaces and discuss arrangements. The Milner York combines garden views, city landmarks and a variety of licensed rooms to support celebrations that suit both intimate and larger gatherings.

Unfortunately we are not able to perform ceremonies outside but we do have lovely gardens and fountains for your wedding photos.
Yes we are licensed for civil ceremonies in our Crown, Wedgewood, Oak and Ebor rooms which range in size from 40 to 120 guests.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer exclusive use of our venue.
Yes we do allow you to bring your own wine and have corkage charges dependent on what you would be bringing and the quantity.
You are able to access to decorate your venue the morning of your wedding. However we are more than happy if you wanted to pass on your decorations/stationary/wedding favors to us and we can decorate the room for you.
Your evening reception will finish at midnight.
Confetti is allowed at the venue as long as it is biodegradable.
Yes we have a bridal suite that we provide to our couples.
Yes we have over 150 bedrooms at the Principal with a number of different room types for your guests.
