Friars Court may be quite unique in Oxfordshire: a wedding venue concentrating exclusively on ceremonies & very small receptions.

For couples planning to hold their reception at home or at a venue without a civil licence, finding somewhere to celebrate their ceremony can be a real headache. We offer couples the (rare) opportunity to hold their ceremony on the day that they want and at the time that they want with none of the frequent restrictions or limitations on days, times, locations or access.

Our indoor licensed locations range in size from the intimate Red Dining Room to the spacious and more contemporary Garden Room or from orchard setting of the Swedish Summer House to the romantic moat side Rose Arbour. We can also host ‘personal’ (non-legal) ceremonies which – being freed from the registrars’ legal restrictions - can take place anywhere that's suitable within the grounds.

For couples looking for somewhere private & exclusive to hold a small reception we also offer wedding breakfast receptions in the Garden Room. Light, bright & decorated in warm, neutral colours, the Garden Room is ideally sized for up to 40 people. We can help guide you towards your perfect wedding with recommendations for caterers, florists, photographers and more.

Although what we offer may be small, our experience is large having hosted weddings for almost 20 years. We like small and detailed so each Silver Pear wedding is as unique and special as every couple.
