Set within 26 acres of formal gardens and woodland in South Yorkshire, Wortley Hall offers weddings in a historic stately home surrounded by landscaped grounds dating back to the early 1800s. Originally the ancestral home of the Earl of Wharncliffe, the hall retains original architectural features across its ceremony and dining rooms, creating a setting shaped by the building’s heritage and layout.

Couples can choose from a range of individually designed rooms for both ceremonies and celebrations, allowing the day to move naturally from vows through to dining and evening festivities within the hall itself. The terrace and gardens form part of the flow of the day, offering outdoor space for drinks receptions and photography across floral beds, lawns and woodland areas, with views stretching across the surrounding countryside.

Weddings are supported throughout by an experienced team who oversee planning and coordinate the finer details of the celebration, alongside in-house catering and service. Food and drink selections are tailored in advance, with canapés and reception service available within the hall and grounds.

Guest accommodation is available on site, including single, double, twin and a traditional Four Poster bedroom overlooking the gardens, allowing couples and guests to stay within the estate following the celebrations. The combination of historic interiors, extensive gardens and multiple ceremony and dining spaces enables weddings ranging from smaller gatherings to larger celebrations held entirely within the hall and its grounds.
