About The Woods at Oakley
Blending natural beauty with eco-friendly values, The Woods at Oakley outside Salisbury in Wiltshire provides a romantic backdrop where couples can legally exchange vows beneath ancient trees. With unique accommodation and thoughtfully designed facilities, The Woods at Oakley offers freedom to create your dream wedding. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, every couple is guaranteed a truly personal and unforgettable experience surrounded by nature.
Nestled in the heart of the woods is the Hazel Bower, where you can exchange your vows in our charming handmade Oak Arbour, whilst your family and friends sit under a stunning cathedral roof of ancient trees. And if the trees are not enough to protect you from the elements, we have a stunning stretch canvas which fits snuggly between the trees. The Oak Arbour is licensed for official wedding ceremonies. Just a short stroll along a meandering path takes you to the Bluebell Glade, a secluded clearing in the heart of the woods where you and your guests can dine and dance to celebrate your marriage. Hidden throughout the woodland are enchanting spaces waiting to be discovered, from romantic tree swings and cosy fire pits to magical fairy doors, treetop perches, wooden play areas and a charming wishing tree.
We have built two stylish toilet blocks sourced from local materials, a charming woodland kitchen fitted with industry standard appliances, have our own pure spring water from the Stonehenge aquifer and electricity in the woods, but don’t expect wifi! We have a list of trusted suppliers who we can wholeheartedly recommend for marquees, bars, catering, florists, photographers, musicians and more but you are welcome to source your own.
Guests are welcome to stay the night in the Woods at Oakley. They are invited to snuggle up in our luxurious bell tents hidden amongst the trees in the Oak Grove or to relax in our beautifully renovated WW2 Nissen Hut on the edge of the woods. Wherever you spend the night we can bring you a breakfast hamper filled with delicious local produce the following morning.
The woods are available for limited weekdays and weekends between the months of May and September. We warmly invite you to visit The Woods at Oakley so you can truly experience the magic of these precious woods.

Yes! Our beautiful Oak Arbor structure is licensed with Wiltshire Council for official wedding ceremonies.
Yes - we are a woodland wedding venue and your ceremony will take place in the Hazel Bower under a canopy of ancient trees.
We have four different packages, ranging from an intimate woodland wedding for up to 20 people to a large wedding celebration for up to 120 people. Our packages are as follows: Secret Wooding 2028 - £2000 for up to 20 people Gathering Wooding 2028 - £5000 for up to 50 people Weekday Wooding 2028 - £7000 for up to 50 people Weekend Wooding 2028 - £11000 for up to 120 people
No, we don't charge corkage fees and you are welcome to provide your own drinks. If you would like a bar service, we have an exclusive partnership with The Merry Mule horse box bar, who can do this for you.
Yes you can. We can recommend some wonderful caterers who have been to us before in our 'Friends of the Woods at Oakley' brochure.
Secret Wooding - exclusive use of the woods for 3 hours Gathering Wooding - exclusive use of the woods for one day from 9am-5pm Weekday Wooding - exclusive use of the woods from 3pm the day before your wedding until 11am the day after your wedding Weekend Wooding - exclusive use of the woods on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Friday to set up, Saturday for your wedding and Sunday until 6pm to take down)
For our Weekday and Weekend Wooding packages, music needs to finish at 11pm and any guests not staying on site need to leave by 11.30pm.

Yes! We have a beautifully converted WW2 Nissen Hut for the couple to stay in. This is included in our Gathering, Weekend and Weekday Wooding packages and can be added on to our Secret Wooding package.
Yes - our Nissen Hut sleeps up to 4 and we have 5 bell tents for hire that sleep up to 4 each.
We have an exclusive accommodation deal with Marshwood Farm Camping which is less than a mile down the road from us. There are also many B&Bs, camping spots and hotels nearby and we have a recommended accommodation list that we can share with you.
Our Sustainability Commitments
Our family fell in love with the woods many years ago, making it our home and vowing to protect it, and the wildlife that lives in it. We are passionate about conservation and pledge for every event held that a proportion of the proceeds will be used to replant our trees, which are under great threat from Ash Dieback. Every couple who gets married in the Woods at Oakley is gifted a tree to plant to commemorate their special day and we welcome our couples to come back and visit their tree in years to come. So not only are you hosting your event in our ancient forest, but you are also playing a vital role in supporting the future of our country’s precious woodland and the wildlife it sustains.
