The Proposal
After two years together, Matt proposed during a birthday trip to the North East of England. While walking along Hadrian's Wall, they reached Sycamore Gap, a scenic spot where Matt popped the question as the sun began to set. It was a quiet, beautiful moment with only the sheep nearby as witnesses.
Becky and Matt spent a year and a half planning their special day, and while wedding planning can be stressful, they embraced every moment. Their advice to engaged couples? "Just enjoy it! It goes far too quickly. Don't stress about small things, they'll be so insignificant on the day."
The Venue
Becky had always dreamed of a barn wedding, and when they visited The Barn at Upcote, they knew it was the perfect setting. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and offering a cozy, intimate feel, this Gloucestershire wedding venue had everything they wanted - including a stunning honeymoon suite!
The couple chose a simple and elegant theme of greens and whites to decorate the venue, using eucalyptus and white flowers. It created a timeless, natural atmosphere that fit the rustic vibe perfectly.
The Barn at Upcote hosts charming Stone Barns and a picturesque courtyard, providing the ideal blank canvas to bring your special day to life. And, with exclusive use of the venue, you can enjoy use of their secret garden, fields and tranquil woodland for your wedding photographs.

Matt looked sharp in a Marc Darcy blue tweed suit, while Becky wore stunning Catherine Deane separates - a skirt, bodice, and a pearl topper that she found at The Little Bridal Boutique. The topper was perfect to complete her wedding day look, and loved that she could remove it later when the weather got warm.
Their wedding party looked amazing too, with the groomsmen in matching blue tweed suits. The bridesmaids wore olive infinity dresses, which perfectly complimented the wedding colour palette.
The Entertainment
For their wedding entertainment, the couple opted for a live wedding singer. The acoustic style of singing created a relaxed atmosphere throughout the evening. To add more fun for their wedding guests, they also included lawn games and an ice cream trike which "went down a storm" with their friends and family.
Favourite Moments
For their first dance, Becky and Matt danced to "Hide" by Juice WRLD, a song with special meaning to them. Their wedding singer performed an acoustic version, making the moment even more unique. A notable memory of theirs was stealing a quiet moment in the evening, sitting by the fire pit with pizza and marshmallows, reflecting on the joy of the day.
