After 7 beautiful years together, nature lovers Cathie and Miki made it it official when Miki asked Cathie to marry him while on a surprise holiday to Sweden. Miki proposed whilst the couple were watching the Northern Lights on a frozen river, and Cathie described the moment as being truly magical!
In November 2016 the couple finally tied the knot at Sutton Courtenay Church surrounded by their family and friends, before celebrating at Fison Barn, Oxfordshire. The couple opted for a Bonfire Night and nature wedding theme to complement the mulled cider, winter Pimm’s and hog roast being served to guests.
The barn was decorated with hundreds of fairy lights and ivy, which the couple had collected just days before the wedding during a woodland walk. Cathie’s extremely talented dad crafted all the table decorations, the cake stand and the wedding ring box for his daughter’s special day. The name places and table decorations were pine cones, hand collected by the couple’s friends and family, giving it that lovely personal touch. Cathie even made her own wedding cake, adding finishing touches provided by the florist.
After the big day, the couple enjoyed a post-wedding trip to Centre Parcs in Longleat to wind down and relax after all the excitement, before heading out to New York the week before Christmas for a romantic winter honeymoon.Â
