The Proposal
Megan and Daniel met in July 2019 on online dating site, Bumble. But when you know, you just know, because by October 2019 they had moved in together!
Three years later, while on holiday in Turkey, Dan proposed on their apartment balcony as the sun was setting over the bay. To celebrate, they went out for dinner and a drink in their favourite bar before meeting up with their family to tell them the happy news.
The Venue
For their wedding, Megan and Dan chose Davenport House, a beautiful Georgian country house set within the Shropshire countryside.
Dating back to the 16th century, this venue boasts character and charm. From the grandeur of the Dining Room to the tranquil lily pond on the grounds, there are endless backdrops to celebrate your special day. Davenport House ensures that your guests can relax in comfort and style, with 40 luxurious en-suite bedrooms and beautiful views.
The couple said: "All of the rooms and spaces at Davenport House were beautiful, it felt like it was our manor home for the weekend."

With the sun shining, the couple decided to hold their ceremony on the lawn as a elegant backdrop. Their celebrant-led ceremony included many unique moments with three heartfelt readings: an excerpt from the book Megan was reading when they got engaged, a passage from Dr. Seuss's "Oh, the Places You'll Go!", and an Irish blessing to honour Dan's heritage. Their wedding guests celebrated the couple at the end of the ceremony with the ringing of little bells, another nod to Irish traditions.
Wedding Fashion
Megan looked stunning in her exquisite Aleena Leena wedding dress with a custom cape, from Warwickshire Bridal Boutique. She paired this with coral Manolo Blahniks for a pop of colour. With elegant Hollywood Waves and a natural make-up look, her bridal look was elegant and timeless.
Dan looked dapper in a custom black tuxedo and black shoes from Armstrongs in Worcester. His floral pocket square blended beautifully with their pastel colour palette.
The wedding party wore floral mismatched bridesmaid dresses and suits which they chose themselves! The groomsmen wore classic tuxedos to match Dan.
Theme & Colour Scheme
The couple chose pastel sunset hues for their colour palette, and I think we can agree it was beautiful. As a wedding florist herself, Megan has an artistic eye for floral design, so she was keen to create a day which drew the best parts of all the weddings she has had the pleasure to work on herself.
Megan designed and created her own wedding flowers with the help of her team to set them up the day of the wedding. Designing her own flowers gave her the unique opportunity to use her creativity freely and create something by that really reflects what she loves to produce!
From the planning to the designing and venue styling, Megan did it all herself, so every detail was thoughtfully aligned with her vision for a pastel garden-party wedding theme.
The Food
Megan and Daniel opted for a unique menu of onion bhaji scotch eggs as a starter, a lamb rump for the main course, and a homemade chocolate magnum for dessert.
In the evening, they opted for an indulgent dessert table, featuring their classic single tier white wedding cake, as well as an array of sweet treats!
The Entertainment
During the drinks reception, Megan & Dan's wedding guests were entertained by George Billingham Magician, accompanied with live music from a pianist. As the evening drew to a close, saxophonist and DJ Freddy de Lord kept the dance floor alive. The surprise entrance of the saxophonist during their first dance to “Can't Take My Eyes Off You” was a highlight.
Personal Touches
Personal touches were woven into their wedding, with a spotlight on flowers being the main feature of their wedding decor throughout the day. A vintage floral pattern was incorporated into the signage and stationery, as well as into the napkins which were handmade by Megan's mum for their guests. One of Megan's friends painted their wedding flowers onto tambourines for their guests to party with in the evening!
For wedding favours, they opted for a live illustrator to capture paintings of their guests that they were able to take home afterwards, as a sentimental keepsake to remember their wedding by.
Wedding Day Highlights
When we asked the couple what their favourite part of their wedding day was, Dan said: "Our vows and the way the ceremony was written by our celebrant." Megan's favourite part of their wedding day was seeing their loved ones on the dance floor and their surprise when the saxophonist joined in mid-song.
