Their love blossomed on the ski slopes of France, and after seven beautiful years together, Lucy and Paul embarked on their journey to forever. On the 10th of September 2022, their love story reached new heights as they exchanged vows at the enchanting Chaddesley Church. The festivities continued at Alcott Weddings & Events, a venue close to Lucy's heart, as it was her family home. With approximately 200 guests in attendance, the day was nothing short of magical. Let's dive into the delightful details of their unforgettable wedding day!
The Proposal
Lucy and Paul's love story began on a ski holiday in France, where they first met. After seven years of cherished memories and shared adventures, Paul decided it was time to take their love to the next level. With a beautiful ring in hand, he popped the question, and Lucy joyfully accepted, knowing that a lifetime of love and happiness awaited them.
The Fashion
Lucy's wedding dress was a vision of elegance and grace. She found her dream gown at Olvi Lace and traveled to their main store in Amsterdam to make it a reality. Though it wasn't the original dress she fell in love with online, the one she ultimately chose was equally stunning. To complete her bridal look, Lucy wore a family necklace and had a beautiful flower in her hair, a sentimental touch from a relative's previous wedding.
Paul and the groomsmen looked dashing in suits from TDR in Halesowen, while the bridesmaids wore gorgeous dresses in a captivating shade of green from Monsoon, adorned with delicate buttons. The couple selected a sage green colour scheme to compliment the bridesmaids' dresses and the rustic surroundings of the venue.
The Venue
Choosing Alcott Weddings & Events as their venue was an easy decision for Lucy and Paul. This stunning outdoor venue held deep personal significance for Lucy, as it was her family home and the very place she had organised weddings and events for the past decade. It was a delightful change of pace for her to finally be on the other side of the celebrations.
Located in the heart of the Midlands, on the borders of Worcestershire and Warwickshire in the beautiful countryside, this hidden gem offers a bespoke and personalised experience for your wedding or event. The perfect blank canvas to add your own personality to while working with a handpicked selection of trusted suppliers, you can customise this venue from start to finish. Which is exactly what Lucy and Paul did. With a budget of £20,000, they carefully selected suppliers who were part of Alcott's preferred list, ensuring a smooth planning process.
The Wedding
During the heartfelt ceremony, two special friends shared meaningful readings, including "Love is patient, love is kind" and an excerpt from "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" by Louis de Bernières. Afterward, guests enjoyed a delicious feast, starting with a variety of large canapés during the drinks reception. The main course featured poached salmon and succulent lamb, accompanied by sides of asparagus, Mediterranean vegetables, and crispy potatoes, all presented on wooden boards for a charming touch. The meal concluded with a trio of fabulous desserts.
Guests were delighted to receive mini Baileys bottles as wedding favours, each tagged with the couple's names and wedding date. As evening fell, the Wedding Crashers Band and the mesmerising Miracle Cure band provided the perfect entertainment, filling the air with music and joy.
The Best Bit
Reflecting on the day, Lucy's favorite part was listening to the heartfelt speeches, which brought laughter and tears of joy to everyone present. Witnessing their loved ones having an incredible time made their wedding day even more special.
Looking To The Future
Rather than having a gift list, Lucy and Paul kindly asked their guests to contribute spending money towards their honeymoon. They embarked on a memorable trip to Mykonos, accompanied by their 18-month-old daughter, creating treasured memories as a family.
Lucy and Paul's wedding day was a dream come true, filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. From the serene ceremony at Chaddesley Church to the rustic elegance of Alcott Weddings & Events, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create a magical atmosphere. As they embarked on their journey as a married couple, Lucy and Paul were grateful for the overwhelming joy and unforgettable memories they shared with their loved ones on this special day.
