Full of bright colours and smiling faces, Emma and Nikul’s beautiful wedding at The Matara Centre was seriously inspiring. Inspired by nature and beautiful sari fabrics, the pair tied the knot surrounded by friends, family, and some truly stunning venue decor! Whether you're having an Asian wedding or a multi-cultural wedding, find your ideal Asian wedding venue here!
After meeting on a snowy night in an Oxford nightclub, the pair were together for five years before becoming engaged. They then spend just over a year planning their wedding before saying ‘I do’ at the beautiful Matara Centre in Gloucestershire.
The Venue
As soon as they saw the venue, Emma and Nikul instantly knew it was perfect for them. With equally gorgeous interiors and exteriors, they fell in love with the grounds and knew it would perfectly complement their unique theme; trees and saris! It was important to them that they incorporated both Western and Eastern aesthetics into their decor, so they used recycled sari fabrics to adorn the venue. When it came to colours, they didn’t want to limit themselves to a specific palette, which can be seen in their beautiful pastel blue cake, mismatched bridesmaid dresses and wonderful wildflower arrangements.
Personalised Approach
After the ceremony, the guests were invited to share a lovely moment where they planted a tree for Emma’s late mum, each tying a piece of colourful ribbon to the branches. This special moment perfectly sums up their personalised approach to their big day.
Favourite Moment
Emma’s favourite moment was “seeing each other for the first time as I walked through the moon gate into the cloistered courtyard. It was the beginning of a magical day.”
