In March 2024, Eric and Faith celebrated their special day at a manor house wedding venue in Lancashire. Their wedding is one to remember, filled with unforgettable moments, joyful surprises and an adorable furry friend! So, if you're wanting some sage green wedding inspiration, make sure to read on about this wonderful occasion.
The Proposal
Faith and Eric's relationship began in October 2017 in Thailand, where they met during a teacher orientation. Despite living nine hours apart, they made sure to meet every two weeks to explore new places together. This dedication to their relationship paid off, as five years later, Eric proposed in October 2022! Of course, Faith said yes.
The Venue
Mitton Hall is a magnificent 15th century manor house set in its own grounds in the beautiful rolling countryside of Lancashire's Ribble Valley. With a rich history, this elegant hall is large enough to feel grand but also suitable for those looking for an intimate and relaxed occasion. This breathtaking countryside wedding venue is beautiful no matter the season and provided the perfect backdrop for Faith and Eric's big day.
The couple happened upon Mitton Hall while looking for dog-friendly wedding venues. A venue that allowed dogs for the whole day was a must for Faith and this is what made Mitton Hall stand out to the couple. They went to visit the venue on Christmas Eve and as soon as they walked through the beautiful Tudor entrance, they were sold. So much so that the deposit was paid by the following week.

Eric and Faith's ceremony was a beautiful occasion, with 70 of the couple's close family and friends attending, and, of course, Peaches the family dog was there for the big day too.
Choosing St Patricks Day as the date of their celebration, the obvious choice for Eric and Faith's colour scheme was green! Opting for a sage green and blush pink colour palette, that wonderfully complimented the elegant look of Mitton Hall, the couple achieved a timeless feel for their big day.
The Surprise
Unbeknown to the guests, Eric and Faith had secretly married a year earlier with an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas. During the ceremony at Mitton Hall, everyone discovered that this wedding was actually a celebration of their first anniversary. The couple cleverly hinted at this revelation during their vows, after which everyone toasted with a big tequila shot. Eric and Faith's tequila shot was taken using a ski shot crafted by Eric's dad and brother-in-law. The ski shot featured their Vegas wedding date on the reverse, adding a special, memorable touch and making for a wonderful reveal of the secret wedding.
The couple had found it challenging to keep such a big secret throughout the year but were thrilled to share photos of their special moment on the cards and gift table, enjoying the reactions of their friends and family.
Guests were also given shots of tequila during the ceremony as a wedding favour, and the couple even had a pianist play the classic "Tequila" song while guests were taking shots of pure tequila at 1pm on a Sunday!
The Wedding Fashion
Faith looked radiant in her ball gown wedding dress from David's Bridal. The plunging neckline complemented the flowing silhouette perfectly, creating a look that was both timeless and elegant. To complete her ensemble, Faith chose an up-do hairstyle and natural makeup, adding the perfect finishing touch.
Eric looked very dapper in a beautiful three-piece green tweed suit, complemented by a sage green tie that matched the colour scheme. He completed the look with black brogues and a white and green boutonniere. The groom's and groomsmen's suits were hired from Aults Menswear, a family-run business in Bolton, recommended to Faith by her brother who had gotten married a few years earlier.
Once again tying into the St. Patrick's Day theme, the groomsmen wore three-piece grey suits with sage green ties. The grey complimented the groom's green suit very well. The officiant, a friend of the couple, wore a matching grey suit paired with a blush pink tie.
The bridesmaids all looked fabulous in sage green, floor-length dresses from Goddiva. The chosen colour complimented the broader theme beautifully, and their wonderful bouquets tied the whole look together perfectly.
The Food
Mitton Hall provided the food throughout the festivities, and it's safe to say that guests were delighted with the offerings! The starters included a delicious butternut squash soup, smoked haddock, and a wonderful ham terrine. For the main course, guests could choose from pork belly, chicken, or a cheese and cauliflower tart. For dessert, there was a choice between cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding, Faith's favourite!
Later in the evening, after the wedding breakfast had been served, guests were treated to sausage and bacon rolls with chips. For the wedding cake, Eric and Faith opted for a five-tier cheese tower. The cheese was sourced from Bury Market and was a hit with those in attendance! This was a huge lifesaver at 2 am when the cheeseboards were brought back out!
The Wedding Entertainment
For their evening entertainment, Eric and Faith booked both a DJ and a saxophonist. Eric was unaware of the latter, as Faith had booked the saxophonist as a surprise for him. When the saxophonist appeared, she even heard Eric jokingly exclaim, “Who paid for this?!” The entertainment was well received by everyone and kept the celebrations going into the early hours of the morning.
Favourite Moments
Among the many beautiful moments of Eric and Faith's big day, one that truly stands out for the couple is the confetti. Faith decided to go all out with the confetti, buying twice the recommended amount and asking guests to really use it all! It turned out to be a brilliant idea, as she says she'll forever remember the colourful tunnel of confetti rain, beautifully captured by the photographers and videographers.
Newlywed Plans
After their wonderful celebration at Mitton Hall, Eric and Faith are ready to embark on a new chapter! They'll be putting their honeymoon fund to good use, taking monthly city breaks to explore Europe before Eric heads back to America in January.
