Sam and Sophie were both working at Stoke Mandeville Hospital when they met and got to know each other as two of the younger members of the team. It’s fair to say it was a tough place to work and they quickly grew close from the support from each other.
Sam knew that the perfect time to propose would be on Christmas day – Sophie's favourite time of year. He managed to keep everything a big secret and went to choose the diamonds for her ring personally. Sam's planning came to fruition and Sophie didn’t have a clue!
