About KJM Ceremonies

KJM Ceremonies creates bespoke, heartfelt wedding ceremonies in Berkshire. Your love story is unique, and your ceremony should be too. From traditional to quirky, KJM Ceremonies will help you design and deliver the perfect 'I do'.

# KJM Ceremonies: Your Day, Your Way

Crafting a wedding ceremony that is as unique as your love story is at the heart of KJM Ceremonies. Based in the heart of Berkshire, KJM Ceremonies specialises in creating bespoke, heartfelt ceremonies that perfectly capture the essence of a couple's journey together.

Led by professional celebrant Katie, the focus is on putting you and your story first. Moving beyond the confines of a traditional or registrar-led service, a celebrant-led ceremony offers the ultimate freedom to celebrate your union, your way. There are no restrictions on location, time, or content, allowing you to create a truly personal and authentic occasion.

The process is a collaborative partnership. From the initial consultation through to the final draft of your script, every element is meticulously tailored to you. Your personal stories, shared values, and individual personalities are beautifully woven into a narrative that is both meaningful and engaging for you and your guests.

Whether you envision exchanging vows in a sun-dappled woodland, a cherished family garden, or a stylish contemporary venue, the choice is entirely yours. You have complete creative control over the proceedings, including your choice of readings, music, and the inclusion of beautiful symbolic rituals such as handfasting, a sand ceremony, or a unity candle lighting.

The result is an unforgettable celebration, delivered with warmth, sincerity, and professionalism, that reflects who you are as a couple and creates a lasting memory for everyone present.

FAQs

There are absolutely no rules with Celebrant led weddings ! As long as we have the permission of the land owner and we're not doing anything illegal ! We can strip it right back to basics, twist the traditional on it's head and mix and match everything you want to make it unique. OR, we can stick to the traditional order of service and add in your own personality through readings and vows and of course, your love story.

Absolutely. It's a joy and an honour to work with ANY couple in love regardless of their circumstances, beliefs, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Yes, with pleasure, it's one of the biggest advantages of a Celebrant wedding. After deciding what level of faith and culture references you want in your ceremony, I'll research some ideas & present you with a few options on readings, vows, rituals, family involvement etc which will bring together a beautifully crafted, very personalised script. It's always appreciated greatly by the families of my couples as well as the couples themselves. I've learnt so much from researching this subject.

Yes absolutely if we can ! We can do pretty much most of what we need to do via video calls but it's best if we can get at least one face to face meeting in. I will certainly suggest that as part of our timescale. If it can't happen then we will stick with video calls.

It's not set in stone really - naturally the key weekend dates across the Spring / Summer will book up more in advance, but it doesn't mean I don't have the odd slot available so please always ask ! I tend to find I have a average leadtime of 6-12 months but I am already getting summer booking for 2025 and then yesterday received 2 enquiries for weddings happening within the next 3 months.

No, but it's so easy and can be done before or after your Celebrant Wedding. It will be done at your local Registry Office. You'll need to request a “Statutory Ceremony” which just consists of you saying some contractual words in front of 2 witnesses and signing the official marriage certificate. You won't exchange rings or vows Approx costs : “Standard UK Fees Notice of Marriage” approx £35-40 pp, “Statutory Ceremony" fee approx £45-£50, plus nominal fee for the certificate.

Only things that we have discussed upfront ie: Purchase of anything like handfasting cords or similar; Mileage outside the 50m round trip; Master of Ceremony services

Yes if you wish to. I design a beautiful certificate to match with your colour scheme and flowers which gives a lovely photo opportunity for you and your witnesses. But it's not mandatory!
