About Crossfade Disco

“Greetings from Abingdon! I’m Tom, owner of Crossfade Disco, proudly established in Oxfordshire for over 30 years. Wedding entertainment isn’t just what I do — it’s my passion. Let’s create a packed dancefloor and a night to remember! (The Shalamar song is optional!)”

Established in Oxfordshire for over 30 years, creating the perfect soundtrack to your wedding day is my passion.

Your evening reception should be far more than just music playing in the background. I work closely with couples and their guests to create a celebration filled with energy, great music, and lasting memories.

It all starts with a conversation — ideally in person — to make sure we’re the perfect fit. From there, we can plan the details that make your day unique: from beautifully timed ceremony music, to a memorable first dance, right through to your final song and send-off at the end of the night.

I use carefully selected, high-quality equipment tailored to suit your venue’s style and atmosphere. This includes a sound system designed for clarity and balance — delivering great music both on and off the dancefloor — alongside lighting that enhances the space with a warm, inviting ambience.

Music is expertly chosen and mixed based on your tastes and your guests, keeping the dancefloor full throughout the evening. I’m also on hand to guide and announce key moments in a relaxed and professional manner.

I work on a fully exclusive basis, meaning your wedding is my only commitment on the day, with my full attention and complete setup dedicated to your celebration.

While some suppliers may undertake a high volume of weddings each year, I choose to limit my bookings to around 30. This allows me to give every couple the time, care, and attention their day truly deserves.

Your wedding entertainment should never feel like just another date in the diary — it should feel personal, considered, and unforgettable.

If that sounds like the right fit, I’d love to have a chat and hear more about your plans :-)

FAQs

From £650 upwards depending on how long you wish the set to go on for.

Absolutely! Requests are always welcome, as are any DO NOT PLAY songs you would rather not hear. There is even an online request portal/app to share with your guests.

No - I specifically do not use strobes on any of my discos. Some of the faster programs on the intelligent light show used may flash in a fast repetitive manner. Please let me know if any persons likely to effected by this are present in the audience so more subtle programs can be used.

Any distance within a 50 mile radius of Oxford is included in the disco fee. However, I am keen traveler who loves driving, being within easy reach of the A34, A40, M40 and M4 motorways. Have van, will travel!

Yes indeed!

I am what is known as an 'Open Format' DJ catering for all tastes and generations. However, as a Gen X, my main passion is the 80s and 90s. If you remember taping songs off the radio, then you're in for some real fun!

All the sound systems on the disco are equipped with sound limiters as standard. These are initially set to protect the amplifiers and speakers from being overloaded but can be configured to any desired point in order to prevent the music from exceeding an acceptable level and disturbing local residents.

Depending on the venue, it could be anything from 30 minutes to over 2 hours for an old hotel with a labyrinth of corridors or one of the Oxford colleges.

A typical evening is 5 hours without breaks.

Our Sustainability Commitments

Energy efficient equipment. Crossfade's LED lighting consumes less than a quarter of the previously used halogen lighting. British and EU made equipment and cables used wherever possible. In-house repairs and maintenance ensures long reliable lifetime. Reusable rubber matting to protect cables running across floors saves on gaffer tape going into landfill. All equipment transported to events in a single trip on a Euro 6 ULEZ compliant van. Paperless booking contracts and invoicing. Lossless digital music purchases eliminating the need for associated production and transport of physical media.

Why Couples Recommend Crossfade Disco

Couples consistently praise this DJ for their professionalism, helpfulness, and ability to create a fantastic party atmosphere. They appreciate the DJ's proactive communication, willingness to accommodate specific music requests and genres, and pre-wedding consultations, including venue visits. The online music planning app is also a popular feature. Reviewers frequently mention the DJ's skill in reading the room and keeping the dance floor full, playing for extended periods as needed. The lighting and provided photos/videos are also considered a bonus, and the service is described as competitively priced.
