Whately Hall hotel is located in the pretty market town of Banbury, the impressive 17th century building certainly packs a punch from the very first glimpse. Full of charm, character and steeped in history, your big day could take place alongside past events attended by William Shakespeare, King James II & Benjamin Franklin!

Overlooking the pretty gardens, we offer you the perfect setting for a unique and unforgettable wedding day. The magnificent oak panelling, original fireplaces and iron chandeliers all add to the romantic and charming atmosphere for you and your guests.
We are fully licensed to host civil marriages with plenty of space to accommodate up to 120 guests for an outdoor ceremony or in the atmospheric Swifts Room. Classically decorated and filled with natural light, the beautiful room boasts stunning traditional original features and direct access to our wonderful gardens at the rear.

From reception drinks to canapés to a traditional wedding breakfast, we will take the time with you to create your perfect day just as you’ve dreamt of it. Our team of in-house Chefs pride themselves on creating inspiring dishes sourced from local and seasonal ingredients, creating wedding menus you will never forget.
When the day draws to a close, your guests can spend a night in one of many stylish bedrooms at preferential rates, many of which boast lovingly retained period features. As VIP’s, you can enjoy the first night of married life in an executive room - complimentary of course!
