Looking for a traditional country house hotel for your wedding day? We visited the Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa to check out everything it has to offer. Built in 1817, the Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa is set amongst 27 acres of Wiltshire countryside. Filled with unique period features, the interior designer has carefully incorporated modern elements to the decor to give a wonderfully contemporary feel to the hotel. This is perfect for couple who want a wedding venue with both traditional and modern aspects.
Accommodation
With 32 unique bedrooms to choose from, you are spoiled for choice at the Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa. All the bedrooms have been recently refurbished with modern and traditional decor to reflect the high quality of the rest of the hotel. From tasteful classic rooms, to the luxury suites, to the master room, every room has its own distinct personality and style. We loved the suite above the drawing room with double claw-footed baths in a huge bay window overlooking the grounds.
The hotel is perfect for couples wanting to stay the night before the wedding without running in to each other; brides in the spa courtyard and grooms in the main house.
Dining
Their award winning Mulberry restaurant, which overlooks a sunny terrace, serves only fresh, locally sourced, produce. With the highest quality ingredients and an imaginative menu, it's no wonder that it is often called one of the finest restaurants in Wiltshire. For summer weddings, why not sit outside on the sun terrace and soak up some sun whilst enjoying the delicious food?
The Spa
One of the major highlights of the Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa is the luxury spa. The highly skilled therapists are dedicated to providing quality spa treatments before the wedding day and will ensure that you look and feel fabulous on the wedding morning.
Weddings
The Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa is perfect for couples looking for an exclusive use venue filled with elegance and character. Whether you want a large celebration with lots of guests, or a more intimate, private affair, this venue can accommodate anything. For larger weddings the Somerset Room with its own patio and lawns is ideal, with the wedding breakfast in the main restaurant. For smaller weddings there is a choice of lounges including the elegant drawing room - perfect for up to 40 guests. Or for that outdoor feel, go for the Doric Temple close to the banks of a private stretch of the River Wylye in the venue's 27 acres of grounds, a short stroll from the hotel.
What We Love!
Bishopstrow know that once you have experienced the hotel's ambience and great food, you will want to come back for your wedding day, so all couples booking in for the Wedding Showcase are given a voucher for a free afternoon tea.
