Guides for Brides have got your back!

Wedding planning can be exciting and stressful in equal measures, and when we speak to couples one of their primary anxieties is around choosing suppliers you can trust with the most important day of your life, as you will want to use wedding businesses that you may never have previously heard of. How do you know who to trust, and what do you do if something goes wrong?

From our experience
Alison Hargreaves
"It's incredibly rare for couple to be in any type of dispute with their wedding venue or supplier as it is an industry steeped in high levels of customer care. However, as there isn't a governing body that represents either couples or the wedding industry, it's important to us that we assist with that role for you if needed. Our experience of the impact of covid restrictions showed us that the unthinkable can happen. We were pivotal in the formation of the Weddings Taskforce then, and remain committed to ensuring that the businesses we represent continue to uphold values that the UK wedding industry can be proud of."

Reviews are a huge reassurance; our venues and suppliers have plenty of those and we highlight the top performers with our annual Wedding Industry Customer Service Awards.

Insurance plays its part, and we encourage every couple to pay the (typically) £50-£100 premium for basic insurance as soon as you start planning as it costs no more to be insured from the moment you get engaged then if you arrange insurance as you walk up the aisle, but it will cover you for so much more. You can read more about insurance options here.

But where Guides for Brides really stands out is in having your back if things don't go to plan and you need help speaking to your suppliers. Our responsibility to ensure your wedding day and the entire planning process is a great experience doesn't end once you have found and booked your venue or suppliers. We are here every step to support you.

The wedding industry is based on reputation and trust to deliver to the standards you should expect for the price you have paid, both before, during and after the wedding day. As a couple, one of the reasons you are choosing suppliers and venues through guidesforbrides.co.uk will be because you can read honest, unedited reviews from other couples, and know that only the most reputable businesses feature on our website. Our featured wedding venues and suppliers bend over backwards to do for their couples, but if their service ever falls short of your expectations, we are here.

How we can help

This is probably the only wedding you'll ever plan, so it's hard to feel you have much of a voice. However, if you found your venue or suppliers on Guides for Brides, we are here to support you, and the venues and suppliers that we represent. We've been in business for 25 years; we have many long and lasting relationships with our clients and we have a great track record of finding a solution that everyone is happy with.

To activate this protection

Log in to your wedding planner on Guides for Brides. You'll already have a free wedding planner if you have sent an enquiry to a venue and supplier and ticked the sign up box, so use the "forgotten password" link to log in. Add relevant businesses in your suppliers' list and mark as "BOOKED". By doing this, we will see that you have found your supplier through Guides for Brides and therefore we have a responsibility to mediate any issues between you and that supplier if you have any issues.

Please do this now. It takes minutes and will give you peace of mind right through to your wedding day.
