A Historic civil licensed castle wedding venue, in Chester-le-Street, County Durham. The castle offers a unique and romantic setting making us the ideal place for a fairytale wedding. Our Wedding Spaces include; a medieval Baron's Hall, a grand State Room, and a more intimate Scarborough Room. Each offering you a differnt look or feel for your wedding day. Yes! We have various licensed spaces for ceremonies within Lumley Castle Hotel, you would simply choose which space you prefer!
Yes, we have various locations across the castle grounds for an outdoor ceremony to take place.
We do charge for corkage if you would like to supply your own wines, sparkling wines, champagnes or spirits.
We do not allow for outside caterers. If you are looking for specific food requirements, please contact us and we can try our best to accommodate.
You can access the venue from 7am on the morning of your wedding. In some cases you may be able to get access the evening before, this would depend on the availability of the venue.
Your evening reception would finish at 1am.
We do not have any noise restrictions for live bands or DJs.
Yes, we do allow fireworks at Lumley Castle. We have an in house supplier that we can book for you!
We do allow confetti, it must be biodegradable outdoors.
