About Gosfield Hall

Gosfield Hall sits amidst over 10 acres of gardens, lawns and parkland in rural Essex, approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Stansted Airport. Built in 1545 and with Tudor and Georgian architectural elements, the mansion can be hired exclusively for a wedding day, with private use of the house and grounds.

Ceremonies can be held in multiple settings within the estate. Queen Charlotte’s Gallery features an oak-panelled interior with a long aisle and seating for up to 116 guests. The Grand Salon, with its high hand-painted ceiling and fireplace, offers a bright indoor option. Two courtyard locations also allow vows to be exchanged with the house as a backdrop on warmer days.

Following the ceremony, guests move through reception spaces including the former Marquis of Buckingham’s Ballroom, where up to 116 people can sit down for a wedding breakfast under crystal chandeliers. Adjacent rooms such as the Bar, Disco and Library extend the evening, with exclusive use of the venue into the night.

On the wedding night, 23 bedrooms within Gosfield Hall are available, including the Rococo Honeymoon Suite. Additional accommodation options nearby can be used for celebrations before or after the main event. All-inclusive packages include catering and drink options with choices of menus and tailored food and drink levels.
