FAQs

Yes! You and your guests can enjoy our charming spaces in total privacy for the duration of your wedding at our Cambridgeshire wedding venue. Exclusively yours for the duration of your wedding – from the moment you enter our tree-lined driveway, you get a feeling you are somewhere special. You are, and it’s all yours!

Choose from our five licensed ceremony spots, each offering the perfect setting to say 'I do'. Opt for the Drawing Room for a cozy ceremony with up to 35 guests, the grand Tudor Barn with its stunning elm beams and fairy lights for up to 180, or the Horse Barn for a barn ceremony accommodating 65 guests. The Garden Summerhouse provides a gorgeous outdoor setting from March to October, or choose the light-filled rustic Old Dairy, overlooking the paddocks, for up to 100 guests.

Our oak-framed Summer House sitting over the lily pond is licenced for outdoor civil ceremonies between March & October, and our garden ceremony setting is often the favourite location to tie the knot if the weather allows. The expansive lawns across the pond allow guests to sit comfortably and enjoy the ceremony with built-in acoustics to complete an idyllic open air scene. The pretty Summer House is rustic & charming and the wonderful house and stunning gardens create a spectacular backdrop.

Yes we offer corkage on sparking wine and table wine - we just ask that you bring it to us three days before your big day so it can be stored and subsequently served at the correct temperature.

I'm afraid we do not offer dry hire as we have our own Team of in-house Chefs using seasonal produce from our eight acre small holding on site.

From 10am if there is a wedding booking the day before yours or, if there is no wedding the day before, then you can come the afternoon beforehand, do some setting up then and stay the night as well if you choose!

Midnight on all days except Saturday where we do have an extension until 1am if you choose - but we need to know that in advance.

We do have a sound limiter and noise policy which you must adhere to if you are playing in our Tudor Barn or Horse Barn reception areas. This is out of respect to our staff, clients and most importantly our neighbours. We warmly welcome all Musicians & DJs that are concerned about the noise limiter to come to the venue ahead of time & try it out. In the Tudor Barn, the noise limit is set at 90 decibels and in the Horse Barn it is set at 100 decibels - it cannot be turned off.

No, we are a farm with farm animals and we also have neighbouring farms with animals close by. Our barns are predominantly wooden-built so fire is our biggest risk which is why we do not allow fireworks under any circumstances.

We provide beautiful dried red rose petal confetti for all our couples having their ceremony at South Farm with our compliments! We do not allow plastic, foil, paper or fake petal confetti at South Farm to protect our environment. In the Summer months our confetti is homegrown with our Dublin Bay red roses harvested & dried for guests to use! Throughout the rest of the year we source bio-degradable rose petals so your confetti is not only pretty and fragrant but also environmentally friendly!

You are welcome to use candles and tea lights on the tables provided they are in enclosed containers to prevent the wax dripping onto the tablecloths. Tea lights need to be in tea light holders or jam jars and free standing candle sticks and candelabras need to be on a mat or plate with glass cylinders over each individual candle. The majority of our buildings are wooden framed so we need to be sensible as fire is our greatest risk!

The Coach House Suite is self-contained over two floors and has a spacious light-filled dressing area and a fridge for keeping the champagne on ice! It's yours with our compliments for your preparations and wedding night and it's the perfect place to dress, share a special moment and steady yourself for a perfect day. Beautifully decorated in a countryside heritage style, our romantic secluded boudoir awaits your first night as a married couple.

We have a choice of guest accommodation at South Farm that’s a little bit different, bespoke, luxurious and charming. Our guest bedrooms, Showman’s and Romany Wagons sleep 24 in total and we have two travel cots and two camp beds on site if you need to accommodate little ones. There’s also a camping area for more adventurous guests with dedicated bathroom facilities. Our sister B&B, Fen Bridge Farm, is just over a mile down the road and is also reserved for your guests with three stylish rooms.

Yes, on our website there is a large selection of local B&B's and hotels within a 10 mile radius together with a helpful map showing the distance from South Farm.

Our Sustainability Commitments

Our eco-friendly wedding venue is blessed with a stunning location and we care deeply about the environment - looking after our little part of the world is a big priority for us. We want to ensure that generations to come can enjoy our wonderful home. We strive to serve the wedding sector and our community in a sustainable way and are determined do the best we possibly can in reducing our carbon footprint. Alongside our current sustainable measures, we are keen to continue to introduce new environmentally friendly initiatives including a signficant solar array, which has just been granted permission, and EV chargers to ensure our sustainable wedding has a lower impact on the environment. We are truly a field to fork venue growing 70% of our own fruit and vegetables on-site using organic principles – meaning zero food miles – not to mention the tastiest food! We continue to invest in improved eco growing techniques and technologies, such as new irrigation systems – using water from our bore hole – and netting for organic pest control, to allow us to grow more, and to grow greener. Our sustainable wedding venue is home to pretty wildlife ponds, that are also functional. Our reed and willow bed uses the waste water on site with a large amount of the excess returned to our onsite water table. Water from our onsite borehole is used to irrigate our crops and flush our toilets. The reed bed, our wildlife ponds, and water reserves also provide an ecological habitat for a wide range of animal species around our environmentally friendly wedding venue. We provide beautiful dried rose petal confetti for our couples and in the Summer months our confetti is homegrown! Our Dublin Bay red roses are also grown specifically for this in our smallholding and we harvest and dry the petals for guests to use after ceremony. All our sustainable efforts are possible because of our amazing team and we are proud to offer flexible working for local people who make up a good
