About Trinity House

Trinity House sits on Tower Hill in central London with direct views over the Tower of London and the River Thames. The venue occupies a Grade I-listed Georgian building designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1794, with grand classic proportions, tall sash windows and high ceilings that let in light and provide roominess across its five principal rooms.

Entering through the reception hall, guests encounter a twin-curved staircase and rooms filled with maritime artefacts, portraits and the brass bell from the Royal Yacht Britannia, reflecting the site’s long history as the home of the General Lighthouse Authority.

For a wedding day the Library and Court Room are the principal spaces licensed for civil ceremonies. The Library, with views towards the Tower, accommodates larger celebrations, while the Court Room suits more intimate ceremonies. A common pattern begins with a reception in the Court Room before moving to the Library for the wedding breakfast; adjoining rooms such as the Pepys Room can then serve as space for dancing or an after-dinner bar.

All five rooms interconnect, allowing a clear flow between ceremony, drinks and dining spaces. Guests are able to move from the first spaces on arrival through to areas for post-meal socialising without breaking up the day, and tall south-facing windows bring views of the surrounding city into the heart of the celebrations.
