About The Royal Clifton Hotel
The Royal Clifton Hotel sits on Southport’s Promenade in a Victorian Grade II building with views across the seafront, opposite King’s Gardens and Marine Lake. Its location beside parkland and waterside scenery gives options for wedding photography and guest arrival drinks on the hotel’s patio areas.
Civil ceremonies can take place on site under the hotel’s licence in any of its function suites. The Windsor Suite holds a wedding breakfast for around 60–100 people and evening receptions up to about 200, and retains original Victorian features with an adjoining lounge and bar. The Balmoral Suite’s art-deco design and large windows give a more contemporary interior; it includes its own private bar and courtyard, which can be used for outdoor ceremonies and drinks.
For couples planning different scales of celebration, suite sizes and layouts allow flexibility for smaller and larger gatherings, with a selection of wedding packages available to discuss with the hotel’s coordinators. On the day, the hotel’s licensed civil ceremony facilities, indoor function rooms, and outdoor courtyard offer linked spaces for ceremony and reception without the need to move between venues.
