All Saints Church, Sandon, is a few minutes from the Hall and has a long connection with the estate. Church weddings are arranged directly with the parish, and you can return to the Hall afterwards for your celebration.

We keep a list of local taxi firms, and we recommend booking them well in advance. Shared transport, such as a minibus from a nearby town or the station, saves guests driving and cuts the day's carbon footprint too.

Of course. Walk in together, walk in separately, or have someone walk with you. Mix the seating, or skip the traditions that don't feel like yours. The registrars will talk you through the wording of a civil ceremony, and there is plenty of room to make it personal.

Yes. The three first-floor dressing rooms overlooking the South Lawn are available from 9am. You can share them or use them separately. Reeves Cottage, on its own private lane, also makes a calm second space if you'd like to get ready apart.

Sandon is in the middle of a long-term restoration. Work on the estate includes wilding, new woodland, river and stream-side habitat restoration, and regenerative farming. At its heart is the park itself, which is being returned to the naturalised, picturesque landscape William Emes designed in the 18th century, with wildflower meadows and soft woodland edges.

Rather than token tree planting, the footprint of weddings at Sandon is offset through the estate's own wilding work. That means you can see the result in the landscape around you.

armed butterflies can carry disease into wild populations, few survive release, and they distort the wildlife monitoring that guides the estate's conservation work. We'd be glad to suggest other ways to create that moment.

• Choose seasonal menus with our caterers, and plan numbers carefully to cut food waste. • Use seasonal, British-grown flowers, and avoid floral foam. • Choose reusable or hired décor in place of single-use pieces. • Encourage guests to share transport, or to stay on the estate or in the village.
