About Fonmon Castle
The Castle's rooms lend themselves to 40-60 guests, perfectly suiting smaller, more intimate weddings! Have your twilight ceremony, celebration drinks, a relaxed buffet and then party the night away with up to 60 guests. Fonmon has been a fortress, a hunting lodge, a party palace and a glorious family home, and it’s guaranteed to make you feel like nobility on your special day.
The ceremony can take place in a thatched hut in the scented garden, in front of the dramatic, fairytale-style watchtower which sits near the castle's romantic hidden Victorian garden, or in the castle's grand library.
Handfastings, renewals of vows, and other weddings not requiring a license can take place anywhere on the estate, subject to agreement.
In terms of caterers, music, entertainment and the styling of the wedding, the Fonmon team are flexible and can offer trusted local suppliers or accommodate whatever the couple wishes to source themselves.
We are not only here for traditionally styled weddings, but we also encourage couples to get creative and shape a big day that truly reflects their personalities. Fonmon is homely, not austere and lends itself to relaxed weddings with a difference, so whether you want paintballing, cosplay, or to bring llamas to the ceremony, we are here to help bring it all to life.

Unfortunately, we do not offer corkage but have a fantastic range of drinks available.
Access to the venue is from 1pm for the wedding couple to get ready if required.

No! You can party the night away to your hearts' content!
Unfortunately, fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted inside or outside the building, due to restrictions in place by Cardiff airport's flightpath. We also do not permit balloon, butterfly or dove releases, due to the adverse impact on our natural world!
We permit fresh or dried petals but no paper (biodegradable or otherwise) or plastic confetti as this is hugely detrimental to the local wildlife!
Yes we love candles, but we do ask that these are displayed in lanterns rather than directly onto tables, to prevent them being knocked over.
Not to stay overnight in, however, we do have two rooms for the wedding couple and their bridal/grooms parties to change in!
We don't have accommodation at the castle, but there is lots available locally.
Yes lots! And some of our local hotels and rental properties offer discounts for our couples and thier guests. Just ask us!
Our Sustainability Commitments
Here at Fonmon Castle we are doing our best to make weddings more sustainable and better for the environment by advising wherever we can, as well as recommending environmentally concerned suppliers (such as seed paper stationery!). Single-use plastic is on its way out for good! We love dried or fresh flower petals to be used as confetti, but no other kinds of materials, as we’re trying to be a little kinder to our planet!
