Lots of couples in County Tyrone choose to marry in a hotel, and it’s easy to see why. Hotel wedding venues often have many modern features, often boasting luxurious rooms, on-site catering and plenty of expert staff on hand to help make your dream day a reality. If you’re hoping for a city wedding, then hotels are often easy to access (especially when it comes to parking), whereas country hotels are likely to have beautiful grounds for you to enjoy on your wedding day.

Wedding venues, especially hotels, usually have a wedding coordinator on-site, who will be your point of contact from the day you book your wedding date until the day itself, where they'll help to coordinate your wedding day. Another benefit to having your ceremony and reception in a hotel is that your guests can easily roll into bed after dancing the night away only to meet you for a delightful breakfast the following day.

  • You want to easily provide your wedding guests with rooms to stay in close by.
  • You wish to have a wedding coordinator who is connected with the venue.

FAQ's - Hotel wedding day Venues

What type of hotel should I book for my wedding day?

We have hotels of all types and sizes on Guides for Brides. Ranging from large city hotels to small boutique country hotels. Our venue finder lets you filter through small and large hotels to find the perfect size for you.

Small hotels often have somewhere between 10 and 50 guest rooms, so if you’d like a wedding day venue that your whole wedding day party can take over, then a small hotel may be the perfect choice for you. This also means that you’re less likely to encounter other guests on your day, if you don’t already have an exclusive use booking.

Boutique hotels tend to have less than 100 rooms, and have unique, stylish decor. They're often situated in a city centre, so if you’re marrying in the city and want your guests to have super chic accommodation, then a boutique hotel is a great choice.

There's hundreds of guest rooms in a large hotel, so if you’re having a big wedding day with plenty of guests, then you may find that a big hotel will suit you. Large hotels often have more wedding day spaces to choose from, such as outdoor marquees, ballrooms or purpose-built wedding day suites, and are a good choice for Asian wedding days in particular.

When booking a hotel in County Tyrone for your wedding celebrations, will I have exclusive use?

If you’re booking a hotel for your wedding, it’s possible that there will be be other guests on site. Don’t assume that just because you’ve made a wedding booking, you’ll have the entire hotel to yourself.

Many hotels offer an option for exclusive use. Be sure to ask about this option if you like the idea of hiring the entire hotel for your guests. You can even hire out the hotel for the whole weekend in some cases! However, this may incur an extra charge. There are Exclusive Use and One Wedding Per Day filters in the Guides for Brides search if you know these are important criteria for your wedding venue.

Will my guests have their pick of hotel rooms?

Again, it’s important to check with your hotel wedding venue how many rooms are included in your wedding package. Some packages come with a certain number of rooms included, whereas others will require you to book separately. Hotels are likely to offer a discount on rooms to all wedding guests so they can then book this themselves.

If you’re booking your hotel venue on an exclusive use basis, you'll often be expected to fill all the accommodation. When contacting your venue options, remember to ask them if they have a minimum number of rooms they require to be booked when you have exclusive use.

If I get married in a hotel, will the bridal suite be included in the price I pay?

One of the best bits about having a hotel wedding is that you’ll often have a fabulous bridal suite included! Not only does this mean that you’ll be able to spend your first night as husband and wife in a beautiful hotel suite, but you can use it for your bridal preparations on the morning of your special day. When booking your wedding venue viewing, be sure to ask whether the bridal suite is included in your booking in County Tyrone
