About Simply Human Ceremonies
A ceremony with freedom, but not chaos. Meaning, but not formality. Warmth, but not performance. Based in Alton, Hampshire, I create personal, non-religious weddings, elopements, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies written from scratch. Founding Couple Offer: 50% off for two separate couples — full details available on request.
Hi, I’m Sharon — a Humanists UK accredited celebrant based in Alton, Hampshire. I create personal, non-religious ceremonies for couples who want their wedding, elopement, vow renewal or commitment ceremony to feel calm, warm and completely their own.
A celebrant-led ceremony gives you more freedom than a standard registrar ceremony. The legal part can be done separately, leaving your actual ceremony free to reflect you: your story, your people, your music, your vows, your humour, your rituals, your setting and the atmosphere you want to create.
I’m newly launched as a celebrant, but I’m not new to people. My whole career has been built around listening carefully, understanding what matters, and helping people through important moments with warmth, clarity and care.
Freedom does not mean you have to work it all out alone. I will guide you through the possibilities, help you understand what feels right, and write a ceremony that has structure, meaning and flow — without feeling formal, generic or overdone.
Your ceremony can be joyful, quiet, intimate, funny, emotional, reflective, or all of those things at once. It does not need to follow awkward traditions or sound like anyone else’s wedding. It just needs to feel honest, considered and genuinely like you.
If that sounds like the kind of ceremony you are looking for, I’d love to chat.

Founding Couple Offer — 50% off for two separate couples
Instructions
I’m offering a 50% discount for two separate couples who want a ceremony that feels personal, relaxed and completely their own. This applies to weddings, elopements, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies. A celebrant-led ceremony gives you freedom a standard registrar ceremony cannot: your setting, your music, your vows, your humour, your people, your rituals and your atmosphere. No awkward script. No “insert couple here”. No traditions you only include because you feel you should. Each ceremony will be written from scratch around your story, values, relationship and the kind of moment you actually want to remember — whether that is joyful, intimate, emotional, funny, beautifully simple or all of those things at once. I’m newly launched as a celebrant, but I’m not new to people. My career has been built around listening carefully, understanding what matters and helping people through important moments with warmth, clarity and care. This offer is for two couples who want to help me show what a modern, personal, humanist ceremony can feel like: calm, meaningful, inclusive and nothing like a one-size-fits-all script. To redeem, send an enquiry and mention the Founding Couple Offer.

FAQs
A humanist celebrant creates personal, non-religious ceremonies centred on you — your story, values and people. They can include cultural traditions, rituals, music, readings, vows or anything meaningful, but not religious worship or prayer. An independent celebrant may include religious or spiritual elements, but usually works alone. As a Humanist UK Celebrant I am part of an accredited network, so if I were ever seriously unwell, support is available to find you another accredited celebrant.

Yes. I offer personal, non-religious ceremonies for weddings, elopements, vow renewals and commitment ceremonies. Each ceremony is written from scratch and shaped around you — your story, your values, your people and the kind of moment you want to create. There is no set format. Your ceremony can include personal vows, readings, music, guest involvement, handfasting, a quaich, family traditions, or something much simpler.
Yes. Your ceremony should feel like yours, so your ideas, words and choices are very welcome. We will shape the ceremony together. I will write the first draft based on our conversations, your story and what matters to you, and then we will refine it together until it feels right. You can also write your own vows, and I can support you with structure, tone and wording so they feel natural, personal and true to you.
No — there is no set format for a celebrant-led ceremony. Your ceremony can include whatever feels meaningful to you: your story, personal vows, readings, music, guest involvement, handfasting, a quaich, family traditions, or something much simpler. The only thing it needs to do is feel right for you.
Yes, absolutely. I create personal, non-religious ceremonies for all couples. Your ceremony will be shaped around you — your story, your values, your people and the kind of moment you want to create. The aim is always the same: a ceremony that feels natural, meaningful and genuinely reflective of you.
I create personal, non-religious ceremonies that can honour your different backgrounds, cultures and family traditions in a way that feels respectful and meaningful. A humanist ceremony does not include religious worship or prayer, but it can include readings, music, rituals, symbolic elements, cultural traditions or family involvement that reflect who you are and what matters to you.
I need to get to know you so I can create a ceremony that feels personal, natural and genuinely reflective of you. We can meet online, so it does not matter if you are not local or have busy schedules. The first conversation is relaxed and simply gives us a chance to talk through your story, your ideas and how you want the ceremony to feel. From there, I can begin shaping something that feels right for you.
As soon as you have a date in mind, it is worth getting in touch so I can check availability. That said, if I am available, I can usually support weddings at shorter notice. Ideally, I would suggest allowing at least 2–3 weeks so we have enough time to talk, shape the ceremony, write the script and make any refinements. For peak wedding dates, booking earlier is always recommended.
There is ongoing work towards changing the law to give legal recognition to humanist marriages in England and Wales. If that changes in future, I hope to be able to offer legally recognised humanist weddings too. At the moment, humanist weddings are not legally binding, so couples usually complete the legal registration separately and then have a celebrant-led ceremony that feels more personal and meaningful. Your ceremony can still be completely personal, heartfelt & reflective of you.

Hi, I’m Sharon, the celebrant behind Simply Human Ceremonies. Your ceremony does not have to feel formal, awkward or copied from someone else’s day. You might know exactly what you want, or only know what you definitely do not want. Either is fine. We start with a conversation, and I’ll help you shape something that feels right. I’ll write your ceremony from scratch around your story, your values and the kind of moment you actually want to remember; calm, meaningful and genuinely yours.
