Expect just a little of the unexpected. I look for opportunities to create moments that surprise and delight.

Calm and smiley. I'll soother nerves and coordinate with your key suppliers on the day to make sure your ceremony is beautiful and relaxed.

A great listener and communicator. I can't wait to hear the story of your relationship and create a ceremony that reflects your personalities and the things you hold dear.

Going the extra mile. It really matters to me that you have an amazing experience and I put my heart into every script I write.

About Bluebell Ceremonies

I’m based in the lovely village of Barford St John, in North Oxfordshire on the edge of the Cotswolds. I hold a Diploma in Celebrancy and am a proud member of the Association of Independent Celebrants. I love windy, sunny days on the beach at Southbourne with my family - it's one of my happiest places.

Bluebell Ceremonies is a really personal venture for me. I was inspired to become a celebrant after we organised my daughter’s naming ceremony and I realised what a privilege it would be to create and deliver celebrations to mark the most important moments in people's lives.

Relationships are formed in all sorts of ways and it’s my ambition to create beautiful events which celebrate these incredibly special connections, in whatever form they might take. So whether you’re gay, straight or somewhere in between; it really doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’re together and you love each other. Every relationship is wonderful and unique and I’d be thrilled to help tell your story.

I love language and the power and subtlety of words so my quest is to create modern ceremonies that are personal to you; that recognise the joy and informality of life in the 21st century, but that carry moments of gravity and reflection too. My delivery is warm and calm, creating a relaxed and inclusive event, which tells the unique story of your relationship.

I work with lots of fantastic local venues and suppliers, so I'm happy to point you in the right direction if you need some recommendations. I'm also here to help with selecting readings, choosing symbolic acts and writing vows that suit you down to the ground. So contact me to share ideas and let's create a beautiful ceremony together. Thanks for considering me as your celebrant.

I work across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire & the Cotswolds.

FAQs

A registrar can legally marry couples, but has limited ability to personalise your ceremony. A celebrant can't legally marry you (yet!) but can deliver any content, anywhere and at any time.

A humanist ceremony is based around the humanist belief system. An independent celebrant can incorporate content to honour all beliefs and values if you wish.

£620 - £750 (plus travel to the venue)

Yes, but you'll be fully involved with creating the content for the script and you'll have the opportunity to make as many edits as you like until it's perfect.

I absolutely encourage you to write your own vows and if you need any help with this, I'm happy to do so.

Nope. You can have whatever content best suits you.

Absolutely. It doesn't matter to me who you choose to commit in life. What matters is that you love each other and you're together.

For an interfaith wedding, I'd recommend you contact a specialist interfaith celebrant or talk through your options with a representative from each faith.

Yes - this can be in person or on-line. This helps me to get a really clear picture of what you hope for your ceremony and all the wonderful details about your unique story.

Normally couples book me at the same time that they book their venue, which is anywhere from 6 months to 2 years in advance.

Not yet. Celebrants aren't currently able to conduct legal marriages, but the law is being reviewed to enable this to happen. Hurray!
