Wedding Fashion Trends

1. Rococo-Inspired, Drop Waist Wedding Dresses

Beau by Chosen by KHYA

Rococo-inspired fashion is really making an impact on bridal wear in 2025. Not only are we seeing this style all over TikTok and Instagram, but Pinterest Predicts has also noted that the term "Rococo Wedding" has had a 95% increase in searches. The style is often recognised for it's drop waist looks, gorgeous lace and tulle and is perfect for brides who want a romantic, timeless look. In the second week of January, Google Trends saw a spike in interest for "drop waist wedding dresses", showing how popular this look will be this year.

From our wedding planning expert
Nikita Thorne
"One trend I am seeing all over the bridal fashion space both online and on the fashion week runways is the resurgence of Rococo-inspired styles. Think corsetry, drop waists, and layers of tulle like that seen in TV shows such as "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story". Luxury designers like Galia Lahav and KYHA are really leaning into this aesthetic, using innovative fabrics, contemporary appliqué, and daring sheer designs to add a modern twist to this style."

2. Monochrome Bridesmaid Dresses

Black Bridesmaid Dresses

More brides are picking monochrome bridesmaid dresses, like black, for a bold and matching look. It makes the day feel fresh and stands out from traditional colours. Monochrome is simple, stylish, and timeless, letting the couple and details take the spotlight. It's also easy to customise with different styles to fit any wedding theme. But monochrome doesn't need to just be limited to black and white, we are also seeing couples getting creative with bright monochrome palettes, choosing several shades of the same colour as their overall palette for the big day.

3. Yellow Bridesmaid Dresses

Yellow bridesmaid dresses are a great way to add a fun pop of colour to your wedding. Whether you go for a soft yellow or a bold, bright one, it brings warmth and energy to your day. Yellow works really well for spring and summer weddings and fits with any style, from vintage to modern. Couples are loving it more too! According to SEMrush data, searches for "yellow bridesmaid dresses" are up by 26.3% from last year, showing an increasing interest in the colour.

4. Having a Second Dress

Bride in a second short dress dancing

Over the last few years, we've seen more brides are choosing to change into a second dress after the first dance so they can party comfortably and still look stylish. This lets them switch from a formal gown to something more relaxed and fun, without losing elegance. Shorter dresses are a popular choice for the evening. Searches for "Second Wedding Dresses" have gone up by 39%, showing the continued love of this trend.

5. Wedding Wardrobe

@keep_its_find_bridal Wearing multiple dresses on your wedding day is not a dream for every bride, but for those who love it you can definitely make really cool combinations of dresses. In a natural progression from the second wedding dress, in 2025, more brides are creating a full wedding wardrobe with multiple outfit changes throughout the day. From a traditional gown for the ceremony to a more slinky or modern look for the reception, followed by a fun party outfit later, this trend lets brides stay comfortable and chic while adding excitement to their day. We are seeing the wedding wardrobe trending across social media, with the outfits even featuring pre-wedding looks such as white sundresses for welcome parties and post-wedding looks like track suits with statement "wifey" or "bride" sweaters to wear to the airport for honeymoon.

6. Pre-Wedding Pyjama Party

Bridesmaid Pyjamas

The beloved trend of brides and bridesmaids wearing matching comfy outfits, like silk robes or personalised pyjamas, while getting ready for the big day is bigger than ever. It's easy to see why: this fun and relaxed way to kick off the celebrations makes for fantastic photos and videos, capturing the joy and excitement of the pre-wedding moments. Beyond the comfort factor, these coordinated looks add a special touch to those precious hours before the ceremony. With the rise of content creators and the increasing importance of visually stunning wedding content for social media, searches for "Wedding Pyjamas" have increased by 23% in the past year.

Wedding Catering Trends

7. Live Cooking

Live Cooking Station

On social media, we are seeing that live cooking stations at weddings are becoming even more popular, with chefs preparing food right in front of guests. Not only does this let guests enjoy freshly made dishes, from grilled meats to custom sushi, but this trend comes as couples look for ways to make their wedding interactive and experiential for the guests in attendance. It also helps that this looks really cool on social media too!

8. Iced Coffees

Iced coffees are a popular choice for weddings in 2025, offering a fresh alternative to traditional drinks. This comes as more couples focus on the experience of the sober and sober-curious wedding guests attending, not just those who want to drink alcohol. With so many options involving syrups, milk choices, and toppings like whipped cream or flavoured drizzles, iced coffees can be customised to fit everyone's taste.

9. Lambeth Cakes

Lambeth cakes made a comeback last year and are here to stay as a popular wedding cake choice. This lines up beautifully with the Rococo-inspired trends we are seeing. Known for their intricate lace and floral piping, these cakes add a vintage, elegant touch to any celebration and are reminiscent of the opulence of the Baroque styles. According to SEMrush data, searches for "Lambeth cakes" have risen by 54.5%, proving that this classic trend is going strong.

Wedding Decor Trends

10. Artificial Flowers

Artificial flower decor for a wedding table

Artificial flowers offer couples a sustainable, cost-effective, and long-lasting alternative to fresh blooms. With high-quality designs that mimic real flowers, they can be used for everything from bouquets to centrepieces, creating stunning arrangements that last beyond the wedding day. Google Trends data shows a growing curve of interest in "artificial wedding flowers" since the start of this year, reflecting an increasing number of couples embracing this eco-friendly and enduring option for their big day.

From our wedding supplier expert
Ali Moore
"After numerous calls with wedding decor and florist specialists last year, I found that more companies are investing in and prioritising artificial flowers due to growing demand. This trend reflects a shift in mindset, with more couples seeking sustainable options for their weddings, reducing waste while enjoying lasting, beautiful floral arrangement. "

11. Serpentine Table Design

It feels very fitting that the trend of serpentine tables is growing as we enter the Lunar year of the snake. Couples are opting for a unique table arrangement that resembles a serpent. Many couples are calling in specialist furniture hire companies to create this look as many venues will offer a choice between round or tressel tables. As an alternative, some couples are choosing circular tables arranged in a curving line, also known as the caterpillar table design. Interestingly, Google Trends shows that the word "caterpillar table" has seen a peak of 100% interest in the first week of January, indicating a sharp rise in popularity for this unconventional seating arrangement.

12. Low Table Centrepieces in a Runner Style

Low Table Centrepieces

Low table centrepieces in a runner style are becoming a popular trend for weddings in 2025, offering a modern, elegant alternative to traditional tall arrangements. Solid runners, often adorned with candles, greenery, and floral arrangements, stretch the length of the table, creating a cohesive and intimate atmosphere. This style allows guests to easily interact with each other across the table, while still showcasing beautiful, eye-catching decor that enhances the overall aesthetic of the wedding.

13. Fruits and Vegetable Decor

Another trend that is starting to take shape thanks to the maximalism of the Rococo style - we are seeing fruits and vegetables taking centre stage in wedding decor, offering a fresh and vibrant addition or alternative to traditional floral arrangements. From pearls in clusters of grapes to decorative pears and even bushels of tomatoes adding pops of bright colour to centrepieces, couples are leaning towards using fruits and vegetables within their overall wedding aesthetic, and while it won't be everyone's cup of tea, we've got to say... we are loving it!!

14. Umbrellas and Giant Parasols

Bride and wedding party with parasols

Umbrellas and giant parasols are becoming a stylish and practical wedding trend, offering both protection from the unpredictable British weather and a touch of elegance. These statement pieces are perfect for outdoor ceremonies or receptions, providing guests with shelter from the sun while adding vintage charm to the decor. They not only create a beautiful atmosphere but also serve as a unique photo opportunity for couples and guests alike.

15. Draping

Draping used to decorate inside wedding venue

Draped fabrics are proving increasingly popular as a wedding decor trend. Their soft, flowing texture provides a beautiful contrast in venues with harder, industrial elements, such as exposed brick or metal beams in wedding barns or warehouse venues. But draping isn't just about softening the edges; it can completely transform a space, creating a luxurious, intimate feel.

From our venue expert
Elaine Rough
"Many wedding venues are reporting that guest lists are trending slightly smaller. So many couples and venues are seeking ways to make larger spaces feel more cosy and inviting. Draping is the perfect solution, adding a sense of warmth and intimacy to even the grandest of settings."
Elaine Rough

16. Interactive Seating Charts

Interactive seating charts are taking social media by storm. They are a fun and innovative way to enhance the wedding experience for your guests and we can only see this trend becoming more popular in 2025. An interactive seating chart could take the form of a ticket booth, where guests come to collect their personalised ticket to find their seat, adding a playful touch to the traditional seating arrangement. Alternatively, guests could take a quick alcoholic shot and then find out their seat assignment.

17. Film Photography

23. Old Money Weddings

Couple run towards stately home wedding venue

"Old money" weddings are trending in a big way, with online searches for the term exploding on Pinterest by over 26 times in just the last few months. Think weddings like the ones you'd see in Gossip Girl, especially Blair Waldorf's style: elegant, classic, and luxurious, but not overtly showy or boastful. These weddings have a big focus on looking and feeling high-quality. They often feature beautiful mansions or stately homes as venues, classic wedding attire, and elegant but not over-the-top decorations and flowers. If you have been considering a champagne tower, this aesthetic may be the perfect fit for you!

From our social media expert
Sarah Abu Shah
"I think the old money aesthetic really took off when champagne towers became popular in 2023/24. I am seeing the old money aesthetic regularly showing up on socials, particularly on TikTok and Pinterest. Couples are loving understated elegance of the theme as it feels timeless as well as impressive to their guests."
Sarah Abu Shah

24. Vintage Weddings

Searches on Pinterest peaked in December for "Vintage Weddings". This style is perfect for couples that love lace and frills, as they are essential components of this trend. This trend is all about patterns and texture, think delicate lace gowns with intricate embroidery and patterned plates that feel kitsch but fit beautifully with the textures used.

25. Retro Weddings

Retro weddings are a more eclectic vibe that are reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s. Searches on Pinterest for "retro weddings" peaked in mid-January with more searches than last year when it also peaked; showcasing that this popular trend is staying strong in 2025. To achieve this vibe requires you to be bold with colours and textures. Couples choosing the theme will often lean on disco balls, neon signs and streamers to create the look.

Shifts not Trends

Destination Weddings Within the UK

Coastal Wedding Venue

Destination weddings are on the rise, but not in the usual sense. We are seeing a shift in couples choosing UK-based destinations, heading to locations like Cornwall for beaches or the Peak District for rolling hills and country escapes. It's often an easier way to have a destination wedding without asking guests to have extended time off work and pay for flights. This trend combines the excitement of a destination celebration with the convenience and familiarity of staying closer to home.

Dry Weddings

Juices

We are seeing a significant shift towards dry weddings, with an increasing number of couples choosing to forgo alcohol and focus on creating an inclusive celebration for all guests. This change reflects a broader desire to ensure that every guest, regardless of their personal preferences or lifestyle choices, feels welcome and comfortable. Couples are opting for creative non-alcoholic options, such as mocktails, fresh juices, and specialty drinks such as iced coffees as mentioned earlier, offering a diverse selection of beverages that everyone can enjoy.

Sustainable Weddings

Sustainability is becoming a notable shift in weddings as more couples prioritise eco-friendly and environmentally conscious choices for their special day. This shift reflects a growing commitment to reducing waste, conserving resources, and minimising the carbon footprint of the celebration. Couples are increasingly choosing sustainable venues, sourcing locally-grown flowers, and opting for eco-conscious decor, such as recycled materials and biodegradable options. This shift towards sustainability not only aligns with a more mindful approach to celebrating love but also creates a more meaningful, lasting impact on the planet.

From our CEO and Wedding Industry Expert
Alison Hargreaves
"Recognising the growing importance of sustainability to couples, many forward-thinking venues and suppliers are demonstrating their commitment by absorbing the costs associated with eco-friendly practices, thereby empowering couples to plan more sustainable weddings without incurring additional expenses. "
Alison Hargreaves

As we look ahead to 2025, weddings continue to evolve, reflecting modern couples' values and desires. Trends like these often last a few years, giving couples time to embrace what resonates most. Whether you follow the latest styles or take a more personalised approach, the key is creating a day that reflects your love and individuality - making your celebration truly unforgettable.
