About Milling Barn

Milling Barn sits on a family-run farm in the North Hertfordshire countryside close to Throcking, Buntingford. Visitors enter a collection of 17th-century oak barns and converted farm buildings that are used throughout a wedding day. The Oak Barn, with high ceilings and exposed timbers, is licensed for civil ceremonies and can seat up to 144 guests.

After vows, drinks can be served in the Dairy Barn or outside in the gardens and farmland, with the day’s meal taken in the larger Milling Barn where guests can gather around tables and later dance into the evening. A private dressing room is available from the morning, and couples and their guests have exclusive use of the barns, grounds and fields for the full day. Free parking is provided on site, and cars may be left overnight.

On-site accommodation includes eight en-suite bedrooms, one of which is arranged as a honeymoon suite, offering up to 16 guests the option to stay after the celebration. All bedrooms include towels, tea/coffee facilities and water. Food and drinks are prepared on site by in-house chefs, and menus are offered to suit different styles and dietary needs. The setting around gardens and farmland provides a range of backdrops for photographs throughout the day.
