About voco® Oxford Thames
voco® Oxford Spires Hotel stands on Abingdon Road in Oxford, just a short walk from the heart of the city and the River Thames, blending modern and traditional Cotswold stone architecture with easy access to Oxford’s centre. A tree-lined driveway passes a horse sanctuary and apple orchard, setting a distinctive approach into the hotel grounds.
Couples can choose from a range of indoor spaces for their wedding. The Cathedral Suite opens fully to accommodate up to 200 guests and can be divided into smaller sections for more intimate gatherings. It includes its own bar and access to a private terrace. The Cardinal Suite offers natural light and a semi-private terrace, and other rooms vary in scale and function to suit different parts of the day.
The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies and celebrations from small, cosy occasions to larger gatherings. Wedding packages are available that combine the wedding breakfast, evening reception and additional inclusions such as a honeymoon suite, décor and a DJ.
Accommodation at the hotel allows couples and guests to stay onsite during celebrations; the property forms part of a larger hotel with leisure facilities including a pool, spa and gym. The wedding team can guide planning from initial consultation through the day itself, and the venue’s location offers both an urban-adjacent setting and access to landscaped surroundings.

Getting married at voco Oxford Thames will cost between £7,000 and £20,000 plus VAT.
Due to the size, exclusive use of our venue is not something we can offer. However, you do have total privacy inside the wedding space as well as your own private bar.
Yes, all of our wedding spaces are licensed for civil ceremonies.
Yes, we have our beautiful Riverside Gazebo available for hire alongside an indoor backup option for your outdoor wedding ceremony.
We have an extensive wine list for you to choose from but if you decide to get your own wine then we will be charging corkage.
We have our own fantastic chefs in house to help create your perfect wedding menu and therefore we recommend not getting external caterers.
This completely depends on what is happening inside the venue the night prior to your wedding and what function spaces you have booked. This can be discussed nearer to the time with your wedding coordinator.
On a Friday and Saturday, your wedding reception which included the private bar and music will end at 12.30pm. On any other day, the music and bar will shut down at midnight. However, our main lobby bar can be used 24hrs a day.
Unfortunately due to our location, we do not allow fireworks, however, sparklers are not a problem!
Yes confetti is allowed at your wedding, as long as it is bio-degradable and used outside, this is absolutely fine.
Candles aren't allowed unfortunately. We would recommend using LED lights instead.
Yes, we have a bridal suite which is located in the original 15th century house.
Yes, we have 104 bedrooms in the hotel and your wedding guests will have access to a flexible preferential rate.
Yes, we have our sister property 10 minutes away with plenty of extra accommodation for your wedding guests!
