About Hengrave Hall

Set within 350 acres of Suffolk parkland, Hengrave Hall centres on a Tudor manor built in 1525, complete with mullioned windows, carved stonework and a courtyard framed by red brick. The estate lies just outside Bury St Edmunds, surrounded by open countryside and formal gardens that shape the flow of a wedding day from start to finish.

Ceremonies take place in several distinct spaces. The Chapel, licensed for Catholic weddings and seating up to 100 guests, offers a rare opportunity to marry within a private historic chapel. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Banqueting Hall beneath its hammerbeam roof for up to 140 guests, or outdoors in the Italian Garden when the weather allows.

After the ceremony, drinks move through the courtyard, drawing guests into the main house for dinner in the Banqueting Hall. Evening celebrations continue inside, with space for up to 250 guests. Exclusive use is standard, giving couples and their guests access to the house, gardens and grounds for the day.

Accommodation is arranged across 21 bedrooms within the Hall, sleeping up to 42 guests. Rooms include a mix of doubles and twins, many with en-suite bathrooms, and the bridal suite sits within the main house.

Weddings are supported by an in-house team who coordinate the day, alongside approved caterers. Catholic, civil and celebrant ceremonies are all possible here, allowing couples to plan a day that reflects their own traditions within a setting defined by Tudor architecture and Suffolk countryside.
